I think a lot about this headcanon, that Mikey suffered from his own trip, similar to Donnie. Your story pretty much sums it up. I feel the need to see Mikey and Donnie working through their trauma together in little ways.

Oh man! You stabbed me in the feels heavy! i don't remember coming across a description of what Mikey went through that stirring.

Aww. Poor Michelangelo. Honestly Donnie’s reality is so traumatic I never thought much about the underlying trauma that Mikey could experience.

Also- nice touch on having spoken Japanese being represented in italicized words. I so appreciate the desire to bring in the language to the story, but the needing to translate can get tedious sometimes to it was nice to have the feel without the work.

I always figured that Mikey felt guilty for what happened to the Sliver in the Super-Turtles world, but no one’s ever touched on that. Mikey’s always so focused on helping his family overcome their own traumas that he neglects his own until it becomes too much for him to bare anymore. You touched on his fears and pain very accurately. The ending really got me, the feels, the love between all of them was really powerful. I loved it. His family will now help him like they’ve been helping Donnie.
