Guest chapter 56 . 9/4/2019
I am sorry to hear you feel like people are hating on the story. I think the amount of time fits a big event like this just fine. I do find this to be a good read and there are plenty of comments from people enjoying the whole thing more than me. Best wishes, and try not to let a few jerks bring you down.
merendinoemiliano chapter 56 . 9/3/2019
Great job, you portrayed so well their coordination. Can't wait for more.
Guest chapter 55 . 8/19/2019
I have to be honest, this chapter was kind of boring. I did like Neptune actually working for the enemy coming into play, but Fox, Coco and Yatsu's deaths had no real impact. I read them and moved on.
hirshja chapter 55 . 8/20/2019
You lost me here, and I’m honestly passed that you did, because I legitimately enjoyed this story up to this point. Killing 6 characters in one arc is bad even if it’s the climax of the atory, which this very much isn’t. It’s made even worse by the circumstances it happens in.

As I’ve already covered, the invasion happening this way is stupid. I could’ve kept in reading if the deaths didn’t pile up. I could’ve kept on reading if every single victory victory didn’t go to the bad guys. Hell, I even could’ve kept on reading if the victories were actually accomplished through extra effort that wasn’t put in in canon. But none of those things happened, and even worse, you seem to think it’s totally fine that it went that way.

Look at the “roses scales” saga, an inheritance cycle/rwby crossover. There are several arcs that last many chapters and end up being victories for the bad guys, but it’s not a steamroll. Just as the protagonists shouldn’t steamroll the antagonists, the reverse is also true.

Torrasque666 chapter 55 . 8/18/2019
I said it was going on too long like three chapters ago! Just end it already! Its frankly boring and seems like its just serving to try and amp up the drama, but that amping is useless if it doesn't seem like its going to actually pay off. Which right now, it doesn't.
Skykitsune chapter 55 . 8/18/2019
You keep killing people off like this and this is gonna be a story with nothing but OCs to fill it, holy crap.
merendinoemiliano chapter 55 . 8/18/2019

hirshja chapter 53 . 8/2/2019
In canon, it causes virtually no changes, and there’s a damn good reason for that. The entire reason the breach wasn’t as bad as it could’ve been is because RWBY and Oobleck interfered.

1. It was forced to happen early, this means that the bombs weren’t fully loaded, and Grimm likely weren’t in the ideal positions that Cinder would’ve put them in.

2. RWBY and oobleck took out all the paladins before they even got to the breach. Additionally, most of not all of the foot soldiers on the train were taken out. The fact that there were even either of the above on the train means that they were supposed to be essential to the plan.

3. Having a huntsman team there to defend a breach, especially a small one where Grimm are forced through a bottleneck, is an absolutely fantastic stop gap. Even assuming they would get overrun eventually, it would take a pretty decent amount of time. Long enough for defenses to begin mobilizing.

This has been bothering me for awhile, and I couldn’t really put my finger on it, but I figured it out with this authors note. What you’ve written is precisely what the breach was supposed to achieve. It wasn’t meant to do the same kind of damage as the fall of beacon, but instead to inspire enough fear to make the fall more easily done.

That’s why I dislike this arc so much, if you had made it so that the breach had gone off without a hitch, then this arc would feel far more natural. I’ll continue reading, because it’s a fantastic story, but if you’re gonna be keeping to canon events, while changing the effects of them, then you need to be careful not to do anything that alters the stated goals in canon. Instead alter other factors, such as opposition.
