Hmm, this looks promising! The dialogue in thhe first chapter was a bit awkward, but there’s already an improvement in the second. I like how Ash is actually starting with Pichu rather than Pikachu, but I’ll advise you to not make Diode the team’s backbone just yet: an OP Pichu is even more unsettling than a Pikachu, but I’m sure you can sort it out.

If I can suggest team members, I’d pick Abra (not too creative, but working around its initial weakness could do a good plot) and Jigglypuff (pretty much a honorary team member back then). Not sure about the steel type, Kanto has very few of those.

This is looking pretty fun! Also it's good to see Damian is considered such a terrible person that Gary doesn't want anything to do with him.

Hooray for Pichu too! Little guy is gonna have to work hard to make it through the adventure and evolve to take a few hits! I also like the little things that you add to the chapter to give the world some heart! Bred Pokemon, leaf and Gary being distinct as good trainers, even with Gary and he is.

If there's anything I can say to improve upon, some of the dialogue could be shorter and snappier, like Ash's defense of Pichu. Simpler sentences and phrases or more pauses, will take some burden off of narration to get a lot done.

This is a good start! I'm looking forward to more!
