| Twinklestabber chapter 13 . 7/13 This was a bit rough plot wise. I can't help thinking that Ruby wouldn't have made that promise if Raven was involved with Yang's death. Also if Ruby is trying to prevent the previous events why not get Spring in line by hook or crook. If she didn't plan to force that to happen was she just hoping the woman that was involved with her own daughter's death after abandoning her would suddenly fight against Salem? Also Qrow isn't trusting Ozpin with everything after hearing Ruby's story but tells lionheart where the spring maiden is after she explicitly stated he couldn't be trusted. Maybe I wasn't paying enough attention plotwise but it seems off. |
| hirshja chapter 39 . 7/13 I don’t know if this was you intention. To me, this reads as if Hazel saw himself in Rubygiven how much she lostand was trying to figure out why she blamed Salem instead of Ozpin the way he did. If that was your intention, great job. |

I knew Ruby's story will be dark, but it feels so hopeless reading it, you can feel all she cares about being taken from her and how she falls deeper and deeper into depressed, broken state we see her now. So, good job on making me feel bad for her. You really managed to make me feel her pain. |

As for Ruby, I cannot help but think of a quote from the Warhammer 40k parody 'If the Emperor had a Text to Speech Device' "What it means to be human. The abstraction which outlines each psyche that constitutes mankind's existence. The aggregate of sentiments that we carry for ourselves and for others. An aspect of our being that I found obsolete, in a time where progress was key. Truly, compassion is anathema to progress. A weakness I could not afford to carry at such a crucial time. In recognizing this, I cast mine aside to focus all my being on crafting mankind's future. My work to be hindered by personal attachments no more. In that time, it was my only choice. But now, in an age of the ruthless, the hateful, the prejudiced, I need it returned to me. I mean, to be human once more." Ruby needs to regain her humanity if Salem is to be stopped, but unfortunately does not seem to realize that. I hope she does before it is too late. |
