I like the idea here, but I think the treatment needed to be brisker and less verbose than this. I don't know if you're the sort of author who takes dares from random reviewers, but, if you are: Bet you can't tell this same story in 1,000 words or fewer! (Seriously, you should try it. It would do the story a world of good. And no fair leaving out the spaces between words, the way you've done so often here for some reason.)
