And maybe marinette has a closer connection to hawkmoth due to being ladybug... or maybe because he never mentions or directly thinks of his wife when working so this time it happened to reach his victim. OR maybe because marinette is so in tune with being good that she can pick up on those things better then most.

I'm still banking on the ladybug thing though, especially cause akumatized people don't typically remember anything. (except alya and nino when oblivio, which their first season selfs didn't remember anything vs their post hero selfs did... chloe seems to remember everything to. I do think being a miraculous owner and one point or another does give you some kind of resistance to the forgetting part of his powers.)

like on one hand he needs to be here. he is her friend as chat noir and he is helping her talk things out and listening which is important part about being a friend. but shouldn't he at least let her have her crushe's name secert or at least not push in that direction and say if she thinks its needed for context or not for him to understand her problem?

I really like the detail that mari was worried to check the ice-cream first while Adrien didn't hesitate.

though why tease him for the ladybug themed ice-cream if she still thinks her cone resembles Adrien? though mari putting extra weight in the ice-cream to clear up that part of her still likes Adrien is interesting. like she knew she still like him but needed something to direct her into see it like that.

and mari IS actually really expressive. and she calmed down some from the ice-cream and her anger earlier a little. but she is with chat who she is very comfortable with.

like maybe use body language and pauses to give a little more depth that there is more motivation. like when she said she feels a bit strange talking to chat about her crush after the weredad insident. maybe a look of guilt or something or a description that it was because SHE is chat's crush and she doesn't know how he'd feel if he knew he was giving his crush advice. something chat could miss even if he picked up the weredad inconsistency and shelved that for later.

or maybe mari looking bothered or had some self realizations when fans were brought up. something that we could see as her thinking about some of the not great stuff she has done when it comes to Adrien that maybe chat could miss. like she brought up the dad and stuff but I like her lookimg at it from the dad side that his dad is just scared and that maybe Adrien doesn't see that motivation and just feels controlled and then bringing up the model and stuff.

Mari is great and wonderful and loves Adrien for all the right reasons and thinks of him like a person...but she isn't above certain fangirl tendancies. when fans were brought up does she ever think about what she's done before? or how she had a entire wall of his photos and enjoyed them honestly and it never occurred to her til now about extra stuff. that those are staged photos. they arnt real.

the thing is even if the modeling has issues it dorsnt change that Adrien did bring joy to a lot of people and mari through his work. I wish mari brought up she enjoys his work to. brings up the talent Adrien has. its not just because Adrien is pretty and his dad. modeling is hard work to and takes skill. I like her realizing and pitying Adrien some now but since this is coming off of her realization about chloe and that connection to Adrien being able to be mean like chloe can be nice.

I also wish there was a bit of self defense of her at least subconsciously about enjoying Adrien's work.
like mari knows chat has seen her Adrien poster wall before.

shouldn't Adrien internally be confused because mari has told him she wasn't interested in him like twice. the wax museum was one but what bout when the posters happened. where she covered it up by saying the posters were for fashion and said she wasn't interested in Adrien like that.

I do feel like when she brought up Adrien having been mean maybe she shouldn't judge him to harshly...like maybe bring upthe gum insident again there since she did explain to chat about the umbrella love. there is a parallel between it because mari gav Adrien the worst first impression. she shouted at him and judged him on his first day of school when he was actually trying to HELP her and take off the gum, but he still despite being given no evidence that she'd listen or believe him made himself vulnerable, explained the situation, apologized even though he technically didn't do anything wrong. mari's reason was her years of backed up frusteration not standing up to chloe and her perceiving him as doing something bad even though he said he was takingthe gum off and his connection to chloe.

he trusted he and wanted to be her friend even though she had been a jerk to him using other context as a excuse.

in this case while its not the same ADRIEN is the one who let his issues built up that he hurt his innocent friend who we know had a secert connection to one of the sources of his issues but he didn't know at that time.

mari could wonder or think about what would have happened if Adrien DIDNT reach out back then. because Adrien didn't HAVE to and it would have been understandable if he wouldn't want to be friends with someone who shouted and judged him on the first day of school but he had understood the context of her history with chloe.

I like you bringing up about Adrien giving mari a opportunity to see chloe has some niceness in her mari didn't see before and more context to why chloe is the way she is. it really showcases her admiration with his patience and believing in second chances.

maybe try having chat interact more to promt answers. like maybe talking about and going in deoth about how he might seem confident as chat with his crush. he could bring up his nerves or embarrassing stuuf he's done. I don't think she knows the orgin on copycat. this is a opportunity for him to confess that particular sin XD
and people tend to be more talkative when someone else has shared and chat IS really good at lightening the mood for mari anf distracting her from her worries.

surprised mari doesn't go more into full on gush mode about Adrien. like Adrien can speak a bunch of languages including Chinese and helped with her uncle, is almost as good as her in mecha strike, he can fence, tends to have good grades ect.

maybe show descriptions more during some dialogue.

I personally think he gets a more well rounded look of who mari is as ladybug because she isn't on edge or holding back wanting to show him her good sides like she does with Adrien(even most of the time her nerves take over. she lets her temper out and can be impatient(like bubbler, owl, volphina, gamer 2.0), was a no show for the statue reveal, often doesn't listen to him, can be reckless like she get them swallowed by a sentimonster. she has dropped him, hit him wither yoyo. can be oblivious because she somehow didn't notice he meant his flirting(which he found that out in copycat). the lovey dovey plan while great to defeat the akuma she didn't exactly express understandingthat it might bother him til after he was winy about it(mind yyou it reflects worse on him because defeating the akuma is top priority but it does show mari can be a bit to practical at times...like her not hesitating at all to kiss him in dark cupid and not relling him about it.
he's seen her nervious and anxieties like when she has a particularly confusing item, or their origin or when she was scared to hurt Chloe's feelings by telling her she couldn't be queen bee anymore.
he knows she can be chidish, like in antibug or when she lefthim on chloe babysitting duty just cuz she could stand being around chloe even though ladybug is the most vital one to be there when a akuma shows up and he cant call her for help if she's not transformed.

might indeed...though if he does find out he'll either feel guiltier(though to be fair he clearly had ever intention of going to meet with his friends but his dad made it so he couldn't go and he couldn't break out because if he got caught with his friends that would just put him in way more trouble and look bad on his friends...so that's why chat distracted himself by setting up the rooftop thing early to distract himself. and probably another reason he was hurt y ladybug not showing. because he is used to people not taking his feelings seriously or into account(its also why I think he took her rejection that day well because she was acknowlediging him feelings and not dismissing them and told him honestly and let him know he was important to her. it really felt like she was listening. which did contrast earlier that day with her and of course his dad whi didn't even bother hearing Adrien argue about it.

and he already hurt mari already so to find out that might make him feel guiltier...but on the other I hope he points out its not really heartbreak cuz its not like she was rejected or stood up.

though tikki…..you KNOW Adrien is chat...are you trying to get mari usedto opening up to chat because when a reveal does happen mari might need a better adjustment period?
I love mari to bits bit out of the two while Adrien messed up the most, mari has th least knowlefge of Adrien and chat.

chat I think needs to learn to temper hisfeelings for ladybug because it did bring out his worst side which led to him hurting marinette. even if they are both the same person and we know its works in mari's favor as longas he is in love with her because you KNOW she'd e horrified if her rejecting him as chat all those times meant he gave up and she lost her chance when we know if she knew she wouldn't have rejected him.

dude SHE is the one who gets to decide if your worth it. you DEFINITLY DEFINITLY fucked up here and I ADRORE you holding yourself to that responsibility. you were to put it mildly a dickweed. and I'm SO glad Adrien is hard on himself here. he was a jerk and I like him being firm mari deserves better. but damn its also frusterating because we know kids aren't perfect. we know mari has certain done some not great things before and snapped(looking at glaciatour or volphina or santa or the stealing) but she is still a great person. and we know this is showing how muh Adrien respects mari and cares but its so damn frusterating cuz we know mari LOVES how Adrien carries that charm she gave him impuslivly to cheer him up all that time ago.
and we know she has certainly turned him down a lot in the other half as well. and he is assuming stuff again. god I wonder what mari is thinking. he was at least correct that she was sad and silent but we also know she was affected by his apology and she SEEMS touched.
