Awesome coda. Absolutely loved it. I agree that after what Rachel did Danny should never consider getting back into a relationship with her, but Claire and Scott have such great on screen chemistry it seems a shame for them not to try.

Good way to end it. I like Rachael but just not for Danny she hurt him too many times.

Awesome coda! I have to agree - putting Danny and Rachel together again is like putting Steve and Catherine together again (Alex says no way in real life). In both cases the love is there but both of our guys have been hurt so badly that they really ought to think twice before following their heart - again.

Loved it. I will really be upset if Danny and Rachel get back together ... you just don't get over being lied to like that and especially about your own child.

Despite what my review may have sounded like on the forums, I don’t necessarily want Rachel and Danny back together, I just appreciate they have more chemistry than the other women they’ve tried to put Danny with. Especially Amber/Melissa. Ugh.

I also think you hit the nail on the head with how he’d always love her, but he knew better. The things she’s done to him (trying to get full custody of Grace? Not telling him about Charlie until he was sick? Would she have ever told him if that hadn’t happened?) are inexcusable and nigh unforgivable.

But, the heart is often treacherous in what it wants. ;)

Excellent! Same as you, I had a hard time with that last happy scene between Danny and Rachel (plus Steve’s approving look). Scott and Claire have amazing chemistry but I really hope the show doesn’t actually try to bring them back together. Danny’s “I’m used to it” was so real and so visceral that it was bizarre to see the scene at the end. This little fic explains it and I am going to keep this in my head as canon. Even though technically...
