Good story. It's amusing to see Peter Pettigrew so competent but not so surprising. 1. He's an adult, 2. A war veteran. 3. Seemed average in a year circled by genius but still managed to become an Animagus at 16 which is unheard. 4. A coward who worked for both sides and was still alive and was unnoticed until Halloween.

Ron is an idiot and don't seem to understand that Harry didn't want to be a Champion. Since he didn't nearly died against the dragon and Hermione "helped" Dark Wizards, he didn't get his head in the right place.

Snape's comment that the delusions of grandeur are normal but it's new that it's in public is so funny! As is Harry getting what Hermione meant by not understanding Gryffindors. I laughed so hard at this, and it is always a nice cheerup-fic. Thank you!

I liked Pettigrew here, though I would think he would come up with something sneakier for his Final Boon - a headstart, maybe.
I never like all those fics where he's depicted as a snivering weakling - he was a Marauder for his school years, which involved making the Map and becoming the youngest animaguses we know of, and then was, as you pointed out, a war survivor. He then made Voldemort's Resurrection ritual work.

This is honestly a funny story and by the vague messed up system JKrowling created even a valid possibility. The idea that prophecies are always true is on possible because they are vague pieces of trash. The prophesy in the book could have literally not been about anyone in Britain. The majority system of the wizarding world is mess by what she both wrote and later clarified in interviews.
