There is just so much wrong with this...

First, All Might is a superfan of America (he studied in America, was a hero there for a while, named his major attacks after American locations), so it's perfectly in character for him to use the name he did. He LOVES and RESPECTS America so much that it is practically a part of his character.

He is even modeled, at least in part, after two well known AMERICAN Superheroes (Captain America and Superman).

Of course, you declaring that it's being "held down" by being named after the United States of America says a lot. I'll leave that particular point there.

Secondly, "American" is a nationality, not an ethnicity. White, Black, Hispanic, Latino... these are ethnicities. America is a nation, not a race.

Lastly, an author's note in the middle of a chapter? Seriously?

Rule one of writing: Nothing you EVER have to say about your story is important enough that it needs to be in the middle of a chapter. Nothing. Ever. At all. Period. End of story. Full stop. Do not pass Go, do not collect $200.

I made it that far and had to stop to write this review, because that whole part was just so badly handled I couldn't be bothered to even finish after reading it.

So his eye sclera changed? What about his nose sclera, his ear sclera, his mouth sclera, his ankle sclera, and the rest? Did they change, too?

I noticed his pupils glowed. You didn't say whether it was his eye pupils, ear pupils, nose pupils, mouth pupils, or his ankle pupils, though...

Sarcasm aside, seeing "eye sclera" mentioned like that was like a bat to the head knocking me straight out of the sea of story immersion straight into disbelief land.

Or to put it more bluntly, seeing that was so jarringly weird that I actually stopped to laugh at the phrasing used rather than a part of the story.

I really like this. I feel like the USJ would be a good incident to show Izuku’s class who Ru is. It’d pretty neat for just Katsuki to find out. Especially since she’d get the blunt of the force since she was Izuku’s bully.
