Bladewriter chapter 12 . 5/22
I agree with crimson11116 on this one. Angela doesn’t seem abusive, just overly protective for a ‘reason’. As for hitting Jaune, her emotions were unstable and people tend do things they will regret later when in the moment. And unless I wasn’t paying close enough attention, I still think the boy’s father is Morrison.
Bladewriter chapter 8 . 5/22
So far I keep thinking the father could be Soldier 76. Good chapter though. And is Satya and McCree married to one another? Just making sure I’m not assuming this wrong.
crimson11116 chapter 12 . 5/12
A lot of people is saying how Jaune should not forgive mercy but I would like to point out that Jaune was hunted down many times as a child as such Mercy wanting Jaune safe is only natural. Another thing they say is that Mercy can’t make the decision for Jaune to go to Beacon but he is only 17 years old so still a minor so yes she can. The third thing is she should not stand in the way of his dreams to become a huntsmen but Ozpin cannot be trusted in fact everyone from overwatch says it, I forgot which chapter but it is implied that Ozpin only allowed Jaune in for his semblance or to get Mercy back in the fold which make this worst. Fourthly they said he was physically and emotionally abuse no he was not that is like saying all strict parents abuse their kids, I can definitely say he wasn’t physically and emotional abuse, if you do the research he does not show any symptoms of emotional abuse. Instead he show us of a teenager who does not want to be babied anymore who does not want his parents constantly calling him and asking where he is. I definitely believe that Mercy would die have way through and it would be Jaunes fault. Let’s be honest people if you were in Mercy position you would have done the same thing people, for those of you who says you won’t you are lying or don’t truly get it as he already lost body parts to people who want to kill him because of his relation to you so obviously you will be more controlling of your sons life. For Jaune why does he want to be a huntsman, he wants to step out of his mothers shadow so why did he choose to become a huntsman he should instead do something else. But it is understandable why Jaune left as he was being too monitored and well he is a teen and teen like to grow and not be constricted.
Josh Spicer chapter 12 . 5/11
Wow Angela is a straight-up bitch. I understand being worrying about your son but this a whole new level of ridiculous. Jaune should give her the smallest of fucks, if any at all because if THIS is how she reacts, it really is no wonder Jaune didn't tell her a god damn thing because she really doesn't deserve it.

Per the norm, hirshja, Zenith, and I seem to be on the same page here. I understand Angela is an overly worried mother, but Jaune really is in a position to just say "no" and not deal with her shit anymore. He's technically an adult now that he's at Beacon so he really doesn't have to listen to her or be ordered around by her.

Truly a situation where, and pardon the pun, Angela gets to reap what she sewed.

No really, Jaune didn't HAVE to go to battle with Angela. He was in no position to oblige her.

I understand what Angela is trying to get across her but she's sounding more like Mother Gothel. And I don't have to tell you that isn't a good thing.

At the very least Jaune leaving her and joining Beacon should be portrayed as neutral. The story turning its narration to imply what Jaune did was stupid is NOT something that should happen.
lumely chapter 12 . 5/10
Damn right on Mother's Day too, well handled. I approve. But still conflicted on who Jaune's father is, maybe I'm just stupid.
TheGreatSeeker chapter 12 . 5/10
Loved the chapter! The confrontation between mother and son was very well done!
ulquiorra.schiffer.1291 chapter 12 . 5/10
God I can’t wait for Gabe to fully reveal himself.
hirshja chapter 12 . 5/10
Zenithtempest said it better than I, but this is not a normal relationship. At all. Based on how this chapter read, it feels like she’s abusive, and everyone else in the family let it happen. The fact that her immediate reaction to him finding information out is essentially “I’m gonna kill the guy who gave him information I’ve been hiding from him his whole life” says it all.

She’s not thinking about Jaune and how he’s affected by her actions. Instead, she’s thinking about what’s she feels she’s done for him and how he should be grateful.

“I give you food, be gratefulproviding food is a responsibility that an adult takes on if they have a child, not a favor that they are doing for their children. I get the impression that Angela as she’s written here would hang that over Jaunes head though.
hirshja chapter 12 . 5/10
Not gonna lie, I’m a little pissed that Jaune didn’t just say “no” to her challenging him. She’s clearly incredibly abusive, but physically and emotionally. Calling someone selfish for trying to follow their dreams is prototypical emotional abuse.
ZenithTempest chapter 12 . 5/10
The hitting I don't have a problem with, I understand from her perspective why she feels justified, my issue is how Jaune ultimately doesn't hold it against her and still loves her.
He sounds like someone with Stockholm Syndrome more than anything else. And while I don't think you intended it this way, his mother seems to not love Jaune so much as she wants to possess him. I got the impression this chapter her 'love' for Jaune is more love for someone dead and gone and she holds onto him so tightly because he reminds her of him. Certainly understandable behavior, but not acceptable, especially not from the victim here: Jaune.
Heart of Virgo chapter 11 . 4/22
Dude, just get to the goddamn confrontation with Mercy. There is such a thing as too much build up.
crimson11116 chapter 11 . 4/21
After reading this entire story it is very good. Can’t wait for more updates. But I forgot which chapter you said about Fanus trait being dominant it is not dominant as only having one parent being a fanus does not mean that that the child will be a fanus it instead increase the chance as I remember it saying that sometimes a fanus is born out of two humans as one of the parents ancestors was a fanus and it manifested in that child. If being a fanus is dominant trait they will not need to wage war as they will eventually overpopulate humans.
