I like that you wrote in the present tense, as well as first person. Both are different for you, but it really works in keeping the sense of urgency and intimacy going here.

“I tolerate you.” – I burst out laughing. This sounded like something Gajeel would say to the letter!

Gajeel reacting so sweetly to the news, wanting to give her a hot bath and a foot rub...and then “that thing” again. Well, that sort of news deserves a celebration, right?
