I really liked your version since honestly it makes more sense to me than the actual ending. I can accept Luther locking Vanya up and Number 5 begrudgingly going along with it but Klaus and Diego have never listened to Luther. The fact that they gave up so easily and walked away from the situation after barely trying made them feel really out of character to me.
