I don't understand how I missed this amazing story! It must've been the different, yet gorgeous, story picture collage of Lucifer and Trixie; I usually just keep my eye out for your warm toned profile picture, and didn't realise that this was yours as well. I greatly enjoyed this established Deckerstar, low-key protective Lucifer, step-Satan shenanigans oneshot! As this is a few thousand words longer than your lucky number series, you were able to flesh out the plot and offer us a delightful Lucifer and Trixie piece where you got to exhibit your incredible descriptive and dialogue skills, especially in relation to humor, comfort, and love. Also, your pacing was bloody perfect; nothing felt rushed, or like it dragged on. It read like everything was naturally unfolding.

The concept was so simple in theory, but you added layers to it by turning it into a light yet heartfelt journey of love. You portrayed Trixie and Lucifer's relationship in a way that was in line with the show, such as through the humor, dynamics, and dialogue, yet extended it towards the future by showing a familiarity to their relationship through implicit character growth and development in a realistic way. It read like one of those cute little scenes that would appear on the show (granted, in a couple seasons' time) because it's definitely something Lucifer would do, so you effectively balanced Lucifer's protective, soft-hearted and "impulsive", "getting even" sides. It's also something Chloe probably wouldn't approve of, so the pair would certainly do this without her around, which only adds to the believability of this story, so it was a good idea not to have her around. Then, you ended it with that innocent display of love and acceptance, an explicit display of what was implicitly being show throughout the story, where Lucifer consciously understands that that is what their relationship is, one of innocent love and acceptance. It's a terrific show of character development, and that's the kind of emotional complexity that sets your stories apart from the rest. It may seem like a fun, light, oneshot, but you show the real emotion underpinning it all, and the reader walks away feeling that warm feeling in their chest just like Lucifer in that final scene.

I know you worry about OOC-ness, and given that this is a future story, let's have a quick chat about characterization. In terms of dialogue and plot, characterization was spot on for both parties. I loved the monikers Lucifer gave Trixie; way they spoke to each other was very reminiscent of their conversation style on the show, yet with character and relationship growth. You nailed Lucifer's characterization: the humorous way you depicted his disbelief at the start (that undignified shriek comment was terrific), his internal rage yet external comforting gestures (adorable how he is terrified when she cries, yet successfully comforts her with the truth, including that comment about how she shines the brightest was gorgeous) and strategies (how he just does her hair for her without fanfare) once he was made aware of the problem, their easy conversation about his true self as he braided (I died!) her hair, how he acts on his protective instincts when he picks her up from school, his obvious affection for her (having sunglasses for her, noticing that she admonishes him in the same way Chloe does, his desire to comfort her even though he is uncomfortable, tucking her into bed, etc.), and his heartfelt admission of love for her. You also nailed Trixie's characterization: her vulnerability yet utter trust and faith in Lucifer, her unquestioning acceptance of who he truly is (listening to his stories of his siblings, not batting an eye at his mood swings (hilarious comment, by the way!), how she thanked him for taking care of the bullies), her gestures of love for him (the hugs, telling him that he's beautiful, saying she loves him). Also, I love Tangled, so that Eugene and Rapunzel comment was an extra bit of fun for me (if only we had a scene where Lucifer and Trixie discuss the movie, or the tv show, hahaha!).

In summary, you portrayed their relationship with an ease and familiarity that one would hope comes from an established Deckerstar, protective step-Devil story. I loved it so much; you had me grinning at the funny parts, smiling at the sweet parts, and gushing at the end (obviously, hahaha). Job well done.

whYFeL chapter 1 . 4/15/2019
Hello, whYFeL here again. Now that I'm back to human form, I should actually comment on the story, right?

I am grateful that you show the increasing closeness and affection between Lucifer and Trixie. The Lightbringer once cast into the dark and still battling his inner demons, having such protective and familial feelings towards the child of his beloved, who sees him as he is, unshakable in her love and faith as children do. How could he not lay his heart for her as well? And I'm happy that the mean kids got their comeuppance via their jealousy and their fear.

Thank you, again.

I am a puddle of happiness and sweetness and goo and awwww on the floor. And I finish work in 2 hours. How do I serve customers in puddle form? (Quick WikiHow search)

I manifest fingers just to type my effusive gratitude to you, dear writer, and find that I cannot hunt the perfect words to convey all that I feel reading your Lucifer works, so far. Will you accept a humble gift of a million "thank yous" instead? For that's all I have to give (please imagine Backstreet Boys dancing in background).

Blessed be, dear writer. Never stop shining to the end of your days, and may your heart be light and joyful always.
