I was really excited to start this. I love it when people take a very one or two dimensional character and then give them character growth. However, I'm not going to lie, almost this entire first chapter is kind of superfluous. Anyone who has read the series will already know this, and getting it from Mineta's pov would most likely be stronger later in the narrative when he starts flashing back to it and getting de ja vous. We could get the differences then, they would be highlighted and pointed out... There have been theories on death that we go over in middle school that makes the first couple of paragraphs a rehash and it would be far more interesting if we got it from Mineta's point of view instead.

Something like: 'Minoru had never given much thought to death.' Then go over why. Or maybe he had a friend die in a villain attack when he was young? Or he remembered one of his grandparent's funeral and what led up to them dying and it had always been something he kept in the back of his mind - knowing that he could die at any point. Or maybe he had a cousin die from a congenital disease and that left it's mark on him and he'd been aware of death since a young age (which would explain a lot of why he's always so scared - unlike the other teenagers who haven't really had to confront death and so they tend to think they're either invincible or haven't given thought to it, he has and that's why he's always so scared?). Whatever it is you decide that works better, making it more personal would have made it far more relatable, set up a theme for the story and given a point for character growth while already starting to build said character.

It started to get better once we got to the summer camp, but then it kind of went off on a couple of tangents before coming back... Starting at the summer camp or even towards the end as he's running through the forest or fighting a villain or running away from a villain would have kept interest and allowed you to go off on those tangents about Izuku without potentially losing the audience.

In any case, there's my two cents, for what it's worth. I'm going to read on, but I like honest feedback for my stories, so I try to give the same to others. I hope it helps and that it didn't come off as offensive. I wasn't trying to be and I apologize if it came off that way.

Just splurge read this story, really like Mineta best in BNHA! Don't really like Midoriya, even though Mineta respects him, he's afraid of upsetting him, like Midoriya is some sort of nega-bully or something. All from being the class's golden boy. But besides that, I liked Mineta in first half, his angsty attitude. Really can't wait for Mineta to get to the nitty gritty of revealing his powers, he confessed to Midoriya in chapter 26, but he forgets when Mineta alluded to his powers before. Maybe its for realism but Midoriya really does have short attention span. I was also thinking maybe All For One has time powers and he's reversing time since Mineta dying interferes with him winning with the best outcome. Haven't read the manga but I'm betting that getting captured wasn't a loss to him. I think some parts like seeing Ururaka getting pep talks from Midoriya could be skipped if we've seen it in the manga and anime. Maybe it helps with word count, I don't know. Can't wait for next chapters, hope author's family gets ok.

Darn cliffhanger, oh well. On a more serious note, I hope you and your family are pulling through alright, I know that doesn't mean too much from some random guy on the internet but I mean it. Forget the people who are pressuring and leaving right now for chapters. Because honestly, if they don't have the human decentcy to understand you're having real problems right now, then they aren't much to be missed. I'll speak for plenty of us and say we understand and are willing to be as patient as you need us to be. So I wish you and your family the best.
