oh no. She thinks she's getting kicked out

Okay, everything seemed to be alright until I read the part about Jade having a damn pocket knife hidden in her palm. That was crazy, never would've expected Jade to think to actually stab Tohru. And where'd she get the knife?

Not gonna lie, I felt a little bad for Jade when Tohru tried to apologize the first time and she got so startled by this that she accidentally broke one of Uncle's vases. Maybe it's the betrayal and a little bit of trauma that's causing her to act out? And what would it take for Jade to see that Tohru is truly a reformed man.

I'm glad Tohru is kicking it up a notch and asking for Captain Black's assistance by planning a trip to Melvin World. But Jade still doesn't like the idea and almost got away if it wasn't for Black. Surprised he put his foot down and told Jade to stick it out otherwise. But for some reason, I have a feeling that in the next chapter or two, Jade might do something crazy like run-away from Tohru or do something to embarrass him in public.

To another great chapter!

This is an interesting start to an interesting story. I've never read a story like this. I like it. It gives bonus character development for both Tohru and Jade and gives the readers a new, possible sight to things on what life was like for the good guys in the downtime after Shen Du's "death".

Of course Tohru had to work to gain people's trust—Jade's especially. I can understand where she's coming from. Tohru nearly cut Jade in half for a talisman! If I was her, I'd feel mad uncomfortable living in the same house with a big guy like Tohru who recently reformed. Tohru may be one of my favorite characters and everything, but the guy can give off a serious intimidating vibe.

Thinking back on it, if we as the audience didn't see Tohru canonly grow to dislike his time in the Dark Hand, I think we all would've reacted the same way as Jade. A couple of filler episodes would've been spent seeing Tohru do things to gain Jade's trust as a reformed man and seeing the two get close and build a friendship. This also makes me wonder about how Uncle and Jackie feel about Tohru's change.

Please, continue!
