Slowest of burns is right! When do we get an update?

It had been awhile since I kept up with this story but I am so glad I waited. Binging chapters was a treat but oh man now it's at a harsh cliffhanger and I'm on the edge of my seat. A pure dessert of a treat this has been. Dare I say some of the spiciest stuff you have written here?

The story of Dango Boy got interrupted! I wonder if they will ever discuss it - I think Itachi remembers the incident but he could also just have bought her dango since he saw her eating it that time she was testing him! The next few chapters are going to be rocky! I figured Itachi was involved in some capacity in the massacre but having Sasuke confront him like that felt like the whole rosy picture of their life just shattered and no one knows how they will recover from the bombshell.

Oh nooo the worst/best cliffhanger! Just when Sakura decided to tell Sasuke the truth, I knew it would somehow come out before she could tell him! Sasuke is going to feel like this is yet again another thing that Itachi has taken away from him. In all fairness Sakura had feelings for Sasuke for years and he never told her and he was seeing someone else - Kanae. Unless he only realized his feelings when Sakura was already “infatuated” with Kakashi, in which case he was waiting for it to pass. He also knew of Sakura’s attraction to Itachi but probably thought that it was just a crush and would pass and would never be reciprocated by Itachi. I feel so bad for Sasuke but at the same time why didn’t he tell her before?! After years of rejection why would Sakura think anything would change? Sasuke has to have made the first move! Now she has to talk to Sasuke and she has to talk to Itachi about Sasuke’s feelings, but those conversations will take a back-seat since the masked man was spotted. Oh man I wonder how the gang and especially Kakashi will react when the Tobi’s identity is revealed.

I also hope the Uchiha brothers can put this and the massacre behind them. I know it won’t be easy and it will take a lot of time, but even canon Sasuke forgave Itachi...the difference here is that Sasuke will think that Itachi lied to him for years while “pretending” to be the caring older brother, plus Sasuke hasn’t killed him so the guilt is not there. I wonder if he will turn his anger/back on Konoha, but with Danzo dead, I hope that is not the case.

I just started reading this story yesterday and I am so glad that I found it! I have to say for the record that I so called it regarding Sasori but even if I was reading this story earlier, I would not have posted my suspicion as a review so as not to spoil it for anyone in case my theory was correct! I wish Sasuke was able to also beat Deidara but hey you win some and lose some. Another fight for another day. Sakura here is stronger than canon Sakura when she fought Sasori, so it should not come as a shock to anyone that she could beat him herself. I wonder if all of the other Akatsuki members will be the same...

Hello, I just started binge reading this fiction yesterday and I absolutely love it! I was going to comment at the end of Chapter 29 but saw your Author’s Note and thought the least I could do is leave a review to show how much I am enjoying this story so far. I am a huge ItaSaku fan and the fics I have read are either non-massacre where all the Uchiha survive and Itachi is trying to deal with clan politics, or AU fics where Sakura and missing-nin Itachi fall in love. This is the first time that I am reading a massacre fic where Itachi was not the perpetrator (although I suspect he knows more than we think, since he said there are some things he can’t share with Sakura).

I love Itachi’s characterization, and the past few chapters have been HOT! I wonder what everyone’s reaction will be especially Sasuke who knows Sakura had a crush on Kakashi and himself when he was younger. Sasuke knows Sakura is attracted to his brother, but probably did not expect her to act on those feelings (or if she did he figured that she would embarrass herself and get rejected) or for Itachi to reciprocate them. Then there is also the matter of Sasuke’s feelings... he is seeing a civilian girl (or more than 1) which I could not picture because it is Sasuke and I think he is attracted to power, but I guess this is a different Sasuke who grew up with Itachi. However in the conversation with Naruto he thought that the girl was not the person he is in love with. Does he like Sakura but could not admit it after he rejected her, or one of the other Konoha 12? I like SasuSaku too so it is hard to imagine Sasuke with anyone else but I am not a fan of Karin so I guess anyone but Karin is okay, lol! Thanks you for sharing this amazing story with your readers. Luckily I still have a few more chapters to satiate my appetite for now! :)

Oh my god, in the middle of the chapter I was getting so disappointed with Sakura. I mean, she did say that she understood there is good and the bad in someone, and to love them is loving both parts... I’m happy with the end of this chapter

I love the way you are developing Itachi and Sakura’s relationship! This chapter also got me wondering if Kakashi will tell Sakura he was aware of her feelings

I've just binge read this story and OMG I love it. Been an Itasaku fan for ages and have enjoyed all the different Itachi's but this one and the way you've reimagined the story is really something special. I love that I can't actually guess what will happen, yet there are so many familiar things about the characters, their actions and the plot.
I'll go back and review each chapter at some point but I could just NOT stop reading and had to devour all of this as soon as possible.
