Solid story and a good follow up to the game's ending.

Yeah, having JD die makes for a more interesting choice, the way I see it if JD gets to live he becomes Marcus 2.0, heck if Marcus dies in the next game and JD marries Kait it would be like playing Gears 3 all over again. But like you said, very few let JD die for no other reason than they do not want to see Marcus suffer.

Then again, that's kind of his theme, surviving when everybody else dies, and even though I like JD, having him die before he gets his redemption makes a good curveball storywise. It breaks the trope of the son of a legendary Hero becoming a bigger legend than his father.

when it came to the choice I chose J.D. because I just couldn't hurt Marcus like that again. dude has been too much and has lived through hell and losing a son would just be fucking horrible for him. No father should live past their son and all that.

this was a good piece indeed showing the pain and despair that comes from the aftermath and the consequence. From what I gather it appears that the consciousness of myrrah seems to have possessed the body of Reyna. Given that Kait rejected the role, Myrrah went with the other option. Though I do wonder if the sequel will go further and perhaps have Kait try to wrestle control of the swarm from Myrrah/Reyna. maybe a civil war in the swarm?
