I actually had a really fun time reading this! I love how it’s pretty realistic but doesn’t over-woobify Varian too much. He’s smart and actively trying to find a way out using the materials at hand, while also slowly realizing how bad his situation is. The Captain was angry but not unrealistically brutal, and Varian was understandably terrified.

Anyway, I really liked this a lot. Usually I don’t read tangled fanfiction (actually this is the first fanfiction I read and reviewed in months) but this was really fun and well written. I hope you can find the time and inspiration to continue it.
