I like some if the ideas. Pacing is kinda all over though. Need to let the story breathe a bit. Have more moments of calm and discussion with your leads in order to let them grow. Right now you are doing a lot of "And then" storytelling. It does not feel like the characters progress so much as skip from scene to scene. The idea of an extra hero is not out right bad but feels a bit over powered in some ways. You are not explaining the costs of spells. Can he summon stuff all day and cast unlimited magic with no fatigue? You have also not discussed his stats or any method that the hero is using to build power. Hope you don't take this as negative because I see some potential here. Even more so if you were to go back through with a bit of a rewrite to address some of the issues. For a story like this you really want it to be character driven. By this point I dont feel as if I know the lead character. By now him and his adopted brother should have had several conversations. Not only to build on who they are as original characters. But also the abilities that they use. All I know really is that he hates how people treat demi humans. Yet every one should feel that way. Keep up the writing though.
