I can’t believe I never reviewed this, though I do remember reading it a while back and I know I loved it then just as much as I love it now! I really do need to get better at leaving reviews. I know for a fact I’ve greatly enjoyed some of your other stories and if I never told you, I’ll just tell you now—they are great! I especially love how you portray Thranduil (my unabashed favorite) and his relationships with his elves. If I ever do get around to writing all the stories I want to, you can bet I’ll make him best friends with Galion and Ferden...and you can thank yourself for that! As for Celeborn, well I love him too, and he was just absolutely perfect in this. So many feels! Anyway, keep up the great work!

This was wonderful. You so completely captured the pain that Thranduil has endured throughout his life. I love Celeborn's words of comfort and solace. But what I most love is Thranduil's immediate reaction to Ava. Even through the worst of his pain and desolation he responds to Ava with love. simply wonderful.

I cried with Thranduil! War is of the horrors of this world, and his anger is justified, full of jealousy at the thought of a gentle life Celeborn leads. He truly did his best with Legolas; in my eyes, he is a wonderful, gentle, respectful father.

It's so damn hard for Thranduil to avoid a complete breakdown... only the few loving people left in his People are able to help him, to give the suffering King some love back. :)
