This was a rather sweet ending. I love how you had the partnership come back to Mallory in the end. This couple has obviously found new friends that are more like family.

It was sweet to see how much Faith cares about Tommy. And great news about him being in remission!

I think you hit on something really critical here. Mike SHOULDN'T feel emasculated over the fact that he is focusing on his family while Mallory works. He put in his time, he was faithful to his country for years, and his choices now need to focus on what is best for those he loves most. Really thoughtful chapter.

Poor Tommy. Just the idea of what he is going through...so very sad.

Here I was thinking about how sweet the kids were trying to help and then Mike went and got all grumpy. Glad Mallory set him straight.
