Reviews for Witchers Wizards and Rings
t chapter 1 . 6/15
Me: *reads description*
*sees "Includes crazy OC with magic"*
Me: Take my money.

This is a really cool fic! Very captivating and fun.

I really love this, there are many moments that are pure gold imo:

That opening was /LIT/!

The weathertop scene gave me chills

Rin's magic ring(s) are very cool
(yes I gave your OC a nickname; I like him, he's cool)

The scene in the library w/Frodo, Sam, and Rin was v cute.

This part is also freakin' amazing: "You are meant to say: 'And my shield' before Gerald says 'And my magic fingers' and I conclude with 'And my map to the hidden entrance to Mordor' " "You have my power and this guy's insanity that he calls wisdom." like that's priceless.

I also really like the detail of Rin giving Frodo the chain to carry the Ring on.

Secret mission? *intigued noises*

" with some doodles of poor cats and animals " ngl I kinda feel called out for doodling on everything I own (reason #897857329857 why I identify super strongly w/Rin)

"Imagine the theme is playing" As if I wasn't already doing that.

I also really love the Rin has actually been humming the theme for a whole hour and (probably) driving half the group batty.

Anywho: Thanks for writting this, it was a great read and I really enjoyed it.

BYE!

And here I thought this was supposed to be serious attempt at witcher and Lotr crossover :). Jokes aside, not much to say about this parody (is the misspelling of names intentional? :)), but it's a bit surprising that with such rich lore of both franchises, there's so little crossovers, witcher book series and Tolkien's world both are, as I would say very compatible ;), both have races of elves, dwarves and even halflings (witcher halflings are basically expies of Hobbits, we meet a few halflings in witcher books), also the Rangers of the North in Middle-earth, in some ways, they are fulfilling similar role to witchers:

"Lonely men are we, Rangers of the wild, hunters — but hunters ever of the servants of the Enemy; for they are found in many places, not in Mordor only.

'If Gondor, Boromir, has been a stalwart tower, we have played another part. Many evil things there are that your strong walls and bright swords do not stay. You know little of the lands beyond your bounds. Peace and freedom, do you say? The North would have known them little but for us. Fear would have destroyed them. But when dark things come from the houseless hills, or creep from sunless woods, they fly from us. What roads would any dare to tread, what safety would there be in quiet lands, or in the homes of simple men at night, if the Dúnedain were asleep, or were all gone into the grave?

'And yet less thanks have we than you. Travellers scowl at us, and countrymen give us scornful names. "Strider" I am to one fat man who lives within a day's march of foes that would freeze his heart or lay his little town in ruin, if he were not guarded ceaselessly. Yet we would not have it otherwise. If simple folk are free from care and fear, simple they will be, and we must be secret to keep them so. That has been the task of my kindred, while the years have lengthened and the grass has grown." Hehe, well we don't hear about them taking money for the job ;) or having silver amulets like witcher medallions, but hey they have other badge in form of silver star as a brooch on a cloak :), like witchers in their world the Rangers are mistrusted and feared, alright jokes over. One day I would like to see a proper Witcher and Lotr crossover which would give justice to lore and depth of both worlds.
