changingdestiny40 chapter 1 . 3/18
This was interesting and you did a good job with this story. And you’re right about Lena’s hypocrisy and secrets, even though from what I’ve seen, all of those projects that she was working on was for what she’d thought would help humanity and save Sam.

The whole hypocrisy in regards to Lena has even sometimes annoyed me with her, one reason in that she told James last season that she’d have other secrets and would not reveal them, and James did not blow up at her.

Frankly I think Lena and Kara were both in the wrong and there was probably hypocrisy and emotional abuse from both sides towards each other, and so they both have valid reasons to be angry. But hopefully they will repair things between themselves as Winn seemed to predict.

As for Lena not having redeeming qualities this season, I’ll have to personally disagree with you on that. While Lena has done some pretty dark things, and arguably unethical but mainly in regards to Eve, I personally can’t see them as unredeemable or completely Luthor like.

For example, Eve was a murderer, a terrorist, and a traitor and was working for an international alien run organization in their attempts to destroy humanity, S4’s events partly being one of their projects.

Plus she tried to murder a young child in Kaznia, and with a nuclear explosion, and for me personally, infanticide is one of the sickest things a person can do. And even so, Lena did not kill her but I think she was only imprisoned in her mind.

And with Malefic, he was a supervillain and Lena could not let him go around hurting innocent people, and I think her containment for him might’ve been more humane and less harsh than the Phantom Zone. I also suspect, though I could be wrong, that him being submitted to Non Nocere might’ve contributed in him listening to J’onn, giving him redemption, since his homicidal tendencies were removed.

Lena did of course imprison Kara with Kryptonite which was very wrong and, in objective hindsight, something she should answer for or at least apologize, but at the same time she kept the Kryptonite cannons from hurting her.

And while she did threaten Andrea’s boyfriend, I personally don’t think she was going to murder him but Andrea did not know that. It was unethical though I’ll admit.

Basically, according to Wiki and as Lex even put it recently, while she has taken a dark path, she has not gone so far as to fall into the madness of her brother and Lillian. Come to think of it, she seems more like the Thinker and Astra, Astra in particular, but a bit lighter than those two and especially after we saw Non Nocere in action and how that nice prisoner is much safer.

And so I think, for those reasons, that there’s still redemption for Lena and that she’s more of an anti-villain than a villain, perhaps even at this point a little bit of an anti-hero.

All of this was my opinion.

I’d like to add however, with respect, that you made a slight mistake in regards to her secrets. Lena did tell Kara, albeit after the fact, that she’d been working with Lex and why during the final third of S4. But you’re right about her not telling Kara her other secrets.

I think you still did a good job anyway and thanks for acknowledging me. And very good that Kara got through to Lena here.

Outstanding story
Prince Nizam and The Vizier chapter 1 . 3/16
Actually Sam being Reign and in her custody was something she was keeping secret to protect Sam.
Guest chapter 1 . 3/16
Given how Kara gave Lena that choice at the end of the 100th episode, Lena could've misinterpreted it and went further down her dark path because she assumed that Kara fully painted her as the villain.
OmniUIShaggyOverexaggerated chapter 1 . 3/16
As much as it hurts to admit, Lena has kept a lot more secrets than Kara. Her anger at Kara was justified, but not acknowledging her own hypocrisy does her no favors at all.
Aragorn II Elessar chapter 1 . 3/16
Nice one-shot.

Yes, Lena has been keeping secrets too.

I heard she is pretty bad this Season.

Liked that Kara talked her out of villainy and hope something good comes of this.

Nice job.
