Now I really want to meet Joshua Uley...has he become some kind of psuedo-Wendigo himself, that it wouldn't be safe to stay around humans so he's just become a hunter? Maybe like how Benjen Stark became sort-of like a wight when the Children of the Forest kept him from dying, but that magic prevented him from ever crossing south of the Wall and kept him suspended even though he wasn't really alive?

Also...the Ministry of Magic doesn't have a right to tell Harriet that she can't tell her brothers about magic. First of all, she's in America. The Statute of Secrecy is governed by the ICW, not one specific Ministry. They've got no right to pick or choose because the Statute says immediate family can know the truth and Sam and Embry are immediate family. Harriet should go over their interfering heads and contact the ICW.

One more thing...I've never been the biggest fan of imprinting because it's just so obviously another way for Stephenie Meyer to make white vampires more appealing than the brown, poor shifters and to subtly be racist without making it too apparent. Plus, imprinting is kind of gross and unequal and has huge issues of consent because they *can't* consent really...I know if Harriet becomes a wolf then the imprinting wouldn't be unequal, but it still feels icky to me. Any way you can make the imprint slightly different? Wolves more than vampires would make more sense having mates because real wolves do. And female wolves can procreate so that bullshit about Leah not being able to was just another way for Meyer to shit on her life. Anyway, an imprint that's more like mates (not vampire mates) would feel more natural? Like they're drawn to each other, but they've ultimately still got a *choice?* Because both Harriet and Paul are not the types to just let things happen to them.

This chapter left me with a tottering heartbeat. This story is equally amazing and now creepy too.

I realy liked this last chapter and the storry as a whole. It is different from the storrys I yusuly read in a good way, thank you and I look forward to the next chapter. :)

You know a sentence got to me in this chapter : "Like he was going around starting little fires, you know? Waiting for one to catch". Since the Uley's Ojibwe ancestor hunt the windigo, is it possible that Joshua Uley had several children because he was waiting to have one inherit a particular 'gene'? Like the Quileutes and the wolf warriors? Though there are hints of Embry having a particular sense of danger, and Harriet being somewhat similar, do they have this in common with their father? Is this how he knew a little fire had caught with Harriet? That sound weird but since you completly blindsided me with the windigo thing I don't know what to expect at all. I can't wait to know more about this whole windigo and Joshua situation.

Wendy is actualy the Wendigo isn't it? Damn, it feels like this fic suddenly entered the Supernatural TV show territory and I definitely didn't see this coming. Good job at surprising us!
