This is actually top notch. I enjoyed the little military tid bits. Such as the Yellow ribbon cadence. I genuinely look forward to reading the next one

great chapter, it was interesting an easy to read also I'm curious to how this hardened jaune will interact with the other if they encounter on your story, pretty adecuate attitude to a soldier who has been on the battlefield so it doesn't feel ooc with jaune.
