most of this story is done with a time skip and then being told in past tense almost like a summary it gets worse when the story in the present tense really drags it feet

PS. Perhaps the responsible of corrupted your file, was the Darkness, because this entity wants to sabotages the journey of Salazar to saves this new world, and it corrupted the file to tries to delays it. At least as theory XD.

Don't worry, i understand you perfectly. My computer sometimes makes me this kind of things suddenly, it is very bothersome, especially when the corrupted file was a project of the university. For this reason i always saves my works in my USB each time that i made them.

Then don't pressure yourself, takes the time that you needs to fixes it and upload the next chapter when you are ready.
