This was so fun! The pranks were great and the fun house is fantastic.

Honestly, I would not forgive Lupin, Snape or Dumbledore for this. Doing that to Harry when his grief is so raw, and at Snape's home of all places. No way. My dad died 23 years ago, and I still don't like to talk about him. And if someone forced me to the home of someone who despised me and expected me to deal with my grief, I'd reset all parties for years to come. It's too soon for this.

A lighthearted, and lovely story to dip into after the the surfeit of grusome stories here ...
Poor Harry and Severus just become voodoo dolls in unrealistic scenes.
But this story is deft, and quirky. I like Blaise is misusing power, and Draco is humbled into finding himself. and Severus unfolds with quiet care, slowly and hesitantly. Hm, take care to give the assistant teacher a pimple or bad habits, otherwise he will be a 'Mary-Bob.'
Furthermore, is there no difference between
'to rein' : to hold a horse or an emotion back,
and 'to reign' to be an crowned King or Queen over a country?
Hm, Wonder why dictionaries were invented, not just bloomin' spellcheck?

Don't explain too much.

Hello! I'm going to contact you here as well as on Potions and Snitches, in case you check one over the other. I'm in the process of creating ebooks of some of my favorite fanfics in order to have access to them on my Kindle when I'm offline, and I included Phoenix's Flight and Ankh of Khepri. I wondered if you wanted me to give you access to the ebooks, for whatever purposes you choose :) If so, let me know, and we can discuss how best to give them to you!

You know, some stories don't stand up to the test of time. Earlier this week, I remembered the existence of this fic - which I had read initially when I was about 12, I think? - and I remembered enjoying it so much that I couldn't stop thinking about it for literal weeks, and I wouldn't shut up about it to my classmates (who didn't even know what Harry Potter was, as far as I could recall). And the title 'Ankh of Khepri' has actually stuck in my mind for the past 6ish years, which is most certainly the mark of an excellent title, for a fic or otherwise - which is how I was able to track it down a few days ago and consume all of the first story absolutely ravenously - I couldn't stop reading. Because it was not only as good as I remembered - it actually managed to be even better than I had expected. My twelve year old self couldn't appreciate it, but me, here, right now - I can't appreciate it enough. Your writing is flat-out PHENOMENAL and it's striking how much you've been able to pastiche JKR's style while keeping it your own, and all night while I was reading this I found myself slowly falling in love with both your portrayals of the canon characters, as well as your wonderful gorgeous AMAZING OCs! I would die for Kainda and Professor Alrister (oh man, he's s d, you absolutely killed it when you created him!) and the sisters, and JINX AND PETER and *flaps hands* I could go on about them all day. Your plot is marvelous too; I found myself completely engrossed (I'd basically forgotten all the details over time so it was like experiencing it from the beginning) and it really felt like a HP book - all the plot threads converging, the new magical lore and items and everything being introduced, Gryffindor Risotta - which really felt like something that would have happened if the books had diverged like this - and I just really enjoyed the magical guardian subplot in general, even though it's not usually the sort of thing I'd be interested in. And of course the marvelous Quidditch League - I loved literally everything about that, from the Draco & Harry team with Hermione pseudo-managering, to the Quiddich Trading Cards (and EVERYTHING about Fred & George honestly!) and of course the excellent end-of-year Teachers vs Students game - PERFECT. I could ramble about this all day but my fingers would probably break after the first few hours.

I'm going to start reading Ankh of Khepri tonight (although I'm hopefully going to prevent myself from just ripping right through it - I want to treasure every bit of it properly!) and I know it's highly unlikely that you'll ever see this review, seeing as you last updated your profile in 2012, but I wanted you to know: you kind of changed my life with this story at 12 years of age. You made me realize what potential my writing could have, and I'm so glad I can come back to it after so long and still love it just as much. I might end up drawing some characters/scenes from it when I get a chance, and I really do sincerely hope I'm able to share them with you.

I really LOVE your story. I laughed, I cried (yeah T.T) and could feel every emotion Harry&Co went through.
Your description of the showdown at Hogwarts was brilliant! The flying house, Kibbles and Hagrid, Harry and Snape there...
And I would have never guessed that I would actually ever like Peeves/Peter x) making him to a person so important for Harry was a nice idea. And he is SO endearing as "big brother"!

A thing I missed in your story was the topic around the illegal potions that Snape gave to Harry. I mean, you let him use the healing potion with Snape but I'm curious what one could have made out of the other ones in the plot.
And I would have loved to read more about this wandless magic. Using that more for in the war or so
