I just wanted to drop you a line letting you know that this really is an amazingly well-written, well-plotted fic. Very interesting and original—the, well, the pseudo-romance between Hal and Dave made me wistful and a bit depressed at the same time. I just wish—well, that things turned out better for them, romance-wise. I understand them being weapons and etc., but everyone needs a little love. :[ Anyway! I truly enjoyed this fic and would read it again in a heartbeat.

I like this story very much. I can't say that I understand everything. The reason is my english (it is not my native language) or my intelligence (I hope it is the first!). But I really enjoyed it.

Don't know if you're still checking reviews on this, but I thought I'd drop a note. I really enjoyed this story; it struck me at first because I've done my own extended personal web research on Chornobyl and I was curious how you would doctor that history (Kojima style). I stayed up late because I couldn't stop reading. Hit chapter 12 around 2am and it gave me the shivers. Poor Snake; in typical fashion he was all ready to just run with his instinct and damn analysis. Seems that Hal wants to resist a bit...any chance for a sequel so we might get to see them resolve feelings despite resistance to their engineering? I liked how you subtly positioned Snake's protectiveness as something he just *does* and doesn't think on; and then let monologue-ers like Liquid spell it out. Roy's homophobia, while certainly important to the story, came across as a bit over the top to me. I liked your Hal - he toughens a bit more each time crazy things happen to him. Anyhow, thanks, and here's to hoping for a sequel!

Oh, my dear god. This is the best MGS fanfiction I've ever read. I don't just mean slashy fiction, I mean in general. Your characterization of Dave and Hal was just beautiful and spot on. For some reason, the fact that you called them Dave and Hal just made me jump with joy...on the inside of course, I had to be sitting to read your wonderful story. I'm sure you've heard it before, but there was definitely an underlying chemistry that was just prominent enough to be noticable, but subtle enough not to dominate the plot. The romantic scene between Dave and Hal was very well done also. You held me captive for hours! I had to read your fic in one sitting or my brain would have imploded. Rarely does a story cause me to feel the desire to lavish praise upon its author. But just...wow. Thanks a lot for seeing this through to completion, I can't tell you how many times I've been reading a really good story, and the author just stops...they just lose interest. So thank you very much for that.

oh i love this story [and hal! ]. to be honest, i'm not really one for those snake/otacon pairings, but i actually loved chapter 12! *drool* i didn't think i'd see a love scene between them i liked. come to think of it, i think this'll be the only one i WILL like. d(_)b two thumbs up!

I thought that in the part where Ocelot makes his appearance, it is sometimes a little hard to tell who's talking. Other than that, though, it was great! It seems to me like this fic could have gone on a lot longer somehow, but whatever.

I didn't see this coming at all. That was some plot twist. Definitely a different portrayal of the Colonel. I imagine that you'd have to be pretty cold and calculating to obtain that rank, but your version of the Colonel took it to another level.
It's a shame that the events of chapter 11.5 was thrown in Snake's face like that. Looking forward to what future chapters reveal.
