This is a beautiful gem of a story, and is one that takes a different approach on the relationship between Snape and Dumbledore; and consequently Harry that is not usually seen in fanfics. It completely fits in with what we know of the characters and yet still brings something wonderfully unique to them as well.

I have never heard that part of the story. Perhaps I should study in religion.

Let's expand on "Brilliant". I LOVE the folklore on which you base this story. I had never heard of it before and it adds such depth to Severus' character. And puts a moral framework on his character that actually would explain if not justify his wholly unsatisfactory end in The Deathly Hallows. The difference between the servant versus the child or heir is a profound theme running through the Bible (perhaps other sources as well; sadly, I wouldn't know) and if fits beautifully within the Potterverse with regard to Dumbledore, Snape and Harry. Like Possum 132, I am definitely inspired by your version of Snape.

Man, that was some powerful stuff. Creepy. I've never heard of that story about Lucifer. I always heard the devil fell before the creation of man. I love this story.
