Reliable Sasuke and sullen Naruto who is complimenting Sasuke in his head even while trying to berate him is hilarious. Would you consider writing a Sasuke perspective of events?

This is terribly precious (that perfect mix of amusing and cute that left me beaming into my hand once I'd reached the end) and so wonderfully genuine. Even though Strings is only a little over a thousand words, and regardless of how small the character's parts are, they all honestly came across as perfectly in character — even Naruto's not-so-platonic musings about (and budding feelings for) Sasuke, simply because of how you expressed them; they were awkward and grudging and combative and heartfelt (which more or less describes Naruto's behaviour towards him, I think) and it was all so believable that I could see it playing out as I read, I really could, and this was just so good. :)

I loved the japanese feeling you gave this story! Most authors, even the best out there, will tend to Americanize Naruto, simply because it's a familiar context to them and to their readers, but that takes away some of the character's inherent charm.

It's awesome how your Naruto has this purely japanesey teenager-fantasy, where gender roles are so specific and even homoerotic relationships have to be pushed into that paradigm.

Lovelovelove the serious, hardworking Sasuke who's so matter-of-fact about stuff like sewing and cooking, because he's raised himself and he's a freethinker who won't be pushed into a role by society.

Also, small details in your fic, like how they skewer fish to eat and mend clothes that got damaged, give it so much credibility!

Your story needs to win a you make another chapter longer than the last I think you might just get one.
