Reviews for The Boys of the Old Brigade |
---|
MintandSalt chapter 1 . 1/29/2015 Wonderfully written. A very deep insight on his thoughts. I hope you wrote some other fanfic, I'll go check immeditaly! **fingers crossed** |
Tides of Gray chapter 1 . 10/26/2010 Beautiful, the title 'boys of the old brigade' has such a nice ring to it. Great work |
Jobey in Error chapter 1 . 8/9/2010 BRAVO. Love the flashbacks, excellently told, but love the heartiness of the toasting scene far more. I want wizarding darts. James is fabulously done, but I really like the supporting cast. You bring new life to the Marauders, and I really appreciate bringing in, you know, OTHER FREAKING PEOPLE IN THE ORDER. I love a good Order story. :-) Thanks for the read! |
livin and breathin chapter 1 . 5/2/2010 I've got to say- I'm not really one for song/poem fics because they can just be done so wrong but I love what you did hear. It was somber and moving.. Introspective and truly poetic.. It's a job well done and I want to read more ;-) |
Raineisahuman chapter 1 . 3/29/2009 I like your characterization of James here. He seems much more real, believably so, than most portrayals would have him. The way I see it is that he is indeed very brave-brave enough to know what scares him. The insertion and choice of poem gives this piece a surreal quality for me. I loved it, I really did. |
dippity chapter 1 . 4/14/2008 YES YOU DO you sense a review! is so ...Emotional?... I loved it well done! |
Amber Penn chapter 1 . 1/8/2008 That was an AMAZING one-shot! I loved the way it was written. It was so...deep, I guess. Who knew that James could be so thoughtful? Great job. I am thoroughly impressed. |
Waddiwasi77 chapter 1 . 5/22/2007 ok then. that's just plain weird. |
Charlotte Donahue chapter 1 . 4/20/2007 That was fantastic, but a bit hard to understand in some parts. Otherwise, I loved it! Like the song, as well. Cheers, Charlotte Donahue PS I love Ireland! I'm Irish. Kudos. |
Fizzing Whizbee chapter 1 . 4/8/2007 Oh I think I want to cry. Him thinking about all this even with Sirius making a Sirius ass of himself with his drunken antics... |
eternalhope08 chapter 1 . 1/25/2007 Fucking brilliant. It gave me chills. |
AmazinglyMe chapter 1 . 8/4/2006 Oh, but it's so sweet. Oh, but it's so sad. Oh, but it's so in-character, which definitely belongs up there with lists of traits that I value enormously, especially in Marauder-era fics, because those characters are so often pigeon-holed into stereotypical roles. Oh, but I write to many long and slightly rambling sentences. Suffice it to say I very much enjoyed your fic, and the poem truly added to it. I'm all for nostalgia, and this evoked a real sense of that. Sirius was wonderful, as were all the Marauders really. And on that note I will abruptly end this review, as I can think of nothing witty to say whatsoever. :) ~ AmazinglyMe |
Becky O'Calahan chapter 1 . 6/23/2006 That was so perfectly beautiful...I must say, I love the Sirius/James friendship bits the most, but that may be only because I live and breathe SJ friendship. The rest is so picture perfect meer words cannot describe...it left me feeling both satisfied, happy, and bittersweetly depressed. Congrats:P Great job! |
Vanderleigh chapter 1 . 1/22/2006 you've made me cry. |
Missing Summer chapter 1 . 12/13/2005 very well-written...and sad, but i suppose it is supposed to be sad. lily and james have such a tragic story, don't you think? |
