I am so emotionally right now I think I need to read happy fic right now lol. She is so selfless and brave. I am sorry that it had to end this way but Raven you are beautiful person and you and your hilarious emotions will be missed. Throughout this story I felt like I knew Raven inside out and I felt like she was one of my best friends. I remember reading this fic YEARS ago and it was just the best, most epic thing ever. Even now it holds a special place in my heart as the first truly amazing TT fic I ever came across. But, just one thing I've been wondering about for quite some time now: Shadows used to be part of a trilogy, with a sequel called Evanescence and a final part called Desecration, if I'm remembering correctly...What happened to those other parts? I remember a long time ago I wanted to read the trilogy again b/c I liked it so much but both of the other stories were gone.

Would it be possible to put them back up? I know this might be a groundless request b/c you probably had your reasons back then for removing them, and I don't know if you're even on anymore cause your last publication was back in 2008, but...it would be really nice. I really enjoyed that trilogy.

I read this years ago, but I don't believe I ever finished it, for some reason. I'm really glad I decided to come back to it, because it is as brilliant as I remembered it, more so now that I have full appreciation of this story. It was incredible: I loved what you did with Raven's personalities and the humour you put in; the interaction between your characters were great; and I liked that you included everyone even though this was a Raven-centric story. I quite like Terra's characterisation here too. And the plot, the ending...wow! It was so sad, yet so captivating. I loved the way you wrote it, especially the funeral-will scene. Corollary to that, I like the style you took to writing this, and the fact that you wrote well.

The only thing that makes me wonder is the dream Raven had, and why her turning into a demon and having the Titans after her did not cause her to question the experiment, since she was having a good time with emotions prior to turning in that dream.

It seems from the summary that this was meant to be a series. Unfortunately, that was nearly ten years ago, and I don't suppose I can hope for a continuation. However, even so, I still like the ending, with a character's death (I kind of like stories like this). Taken out of context of the 'canon' existence, it suited nicely for this story, even without a continuation.

So, thank you so much for this fantastic story. Even though you don't seem active here anymore and may not see this review, I wish you all the best in your other endeavours. Great job!

I had to walk away from this a few times to stop from crying. It didn't work. I still bawled *shaky smile* Anyway the whole story was very captivating. I loved the different views of Raven's personalities and Raven's own self growth.

I liked the idea of the "LIMBO of Raven's inner monologue", the point between consciousness and unconsciousness.

Very nice description of Raven's magic:

"it called upon its own spiritual attack – an ebony flame made from the fire of Raven's soul. The spirit put all of its (Raven's) strength into one final attack and let it fly as a draconian breath."—it’s nice and easy to visualize.

So spooky when BB suddenly assaults everyone. Heh, nice remark about Terra not being the ONLY traitor.
