This might be out of nowhere. Who would have thought Hades would make me cry? Awwww, his insecurities of being loved moved me that I find myself actually rooting for them (but of course, I do! Hades and Persephone are my fave myth OTP).

Although I respect and agree with most of what you said in the added first chapter, I really have to draw a solid black line between the actor and the character of a Disney film. He is not the embodiment of the actor who provided his voice. He was the hard work, sweat, and blood of many people who stayed up all night sometimes to try and tweak his lines and draw his cels. With fanfiction we celebrate a creation. Just because one of the hundreds of people involved in his creation lived their life wrong and reckless, does not damn his character or damn a person for enjoying that character's presence in the villain line-up. I completely understand you, but what I'm saying here is important as well. He is the baby of a LOT of people not just that one person who stood in a booth for a few hours and recorded some lines. People worked for YEARS on him. Painstakingly decided how he should move his arms and his face and when he should BLINK. It should NOT darken your own view of what you wrote. You didn't write a story about that actor, you wrote a story about the Disney film Hercules. It was a series of myths that was morphed into a Disney movie for children and stands on its own feet without the cloud of reality snipping at its glorious coat tails.

I'm interested in a possible take on Orpheus and Eurydice, just to see how Disney's version of Hades and your take on Persephone would have handled Orpheus pleading with them to bring back his deceased spouse.

Came back to a favorite story for a reread, and was deeply impressed when I found this comment. You are an awesome person, and I love your work, and you give me hope for the world and future.

Hey. I just want you to know that I come back every couple of years or so to read this story. It is a delight every time. I originally found it in highschool many years ago, and to date it is one of my favorite stories.
James wood is a tool but this story is a jewel. Thanks for writing it.

I have read this story before and just came back to it because I like the symbolism of Hades and Persephone in the winter months. As far as your update I really appreciate the disclaimer and detachment from Woods. Also I still love this story because he does not have to embody the character because so many people worked on Hercules and worked on breathing life into the project that it seems like, especially in written forms without a voice actor, the character can exist without the shadow of Woods’ allegations. But that said I really truly do appreciate the disclaimer.
