I can't believe I never reviewed or favorited this! This is one of my favorite Shuuichi meets Kurama stories. I just love little Shuuichi's reaction to him. This story is hilarious. I love Kurama's lines and the few sentences about his past/hobbies. This is my favorite: "No," there was that smile again. "Purely art enthusiast." That line is actually how I found this story again because I couldn't quite remember the exact title, but I did remember that line and I googled it. That line is pure brilliance.

I have not read much stories on the Minamono/Hatanaka family and yours is one of the best, I throughly enjoyed it. You've expressed Shuuichi as a real preteen, not that supporting character. I adore this story because it is so very realistic. Overall, I say it is a job well done.

"Yes, having that young man as an older brother was definitely going to be an interesting experience."

LOL! And that's even without the parasitic brain infesting youkai. This was fun!

I love it! I thought it was very canon. Kurama WAS mistaken for a girl one time in the anime. But what I love is that you added more information to counter that. He may look like female because of his beauty, but he isn't. It's also refreshing to read fics about Kurama's step family without the homophobic overtones. Thanks for sharing!

I never thought of Kurama as being mistaken for a girl, though I guess to a preteen, seeing him bundled up in a coat for the first time, it would have been an easy mistake to make.

No wonder Shuuichi the younger was a bit nonplussed at the sight of his future step brother. Very funny!
