Guest chapter 7 . 6/24
This is a really good story! I hope you will consider writing more. It would be a shame if it went unfinished, as it shows you are a skilled writer, who can capture a person's attention and imagination. Please consider continuing it. Thank you.

You ROCK harder chapter 1 . 11/6/2019
I'm starting off with full disclosure: I LOVE stories where Akane and/or Ranma redo part or all of their relationship! The thought of them back in all those crazy situations but with knowledge of one another and their true feelings is awesomely high on my list.

I liked how you handled their re-first meeting, Akane trying to hide her grin and just whispering, "Jusenkyo" as affirmation that he was also having a redo. Their new insights on others' reactions is also interesting, but I can't help feeling like something will eventually happen with Nabiki figuring out that something is up.

The lemony part was well written, but a bit confusing as to what had actually occurred toward the end. I think adding a few lines that clearly state that they're doing the motions but still in their clothes would make it clearer. With them getting hot and heavy, then jumping away to how their aura's are affecting the household, then back to them made it seem like we just missed their clothes making an exit and were on to the main show, so to speak. It wasn't until they were cleaning up that it was truly clear what they'd done. Which I agree with, I might add. The choice to make it that they DIDN'T have sex was a good one, their relationship just wasn't physically there yet, so I'm glad they gave in to their impulses responsibly.

Ok, enough rambling for me, I'm excited to see what happens next!

Thank you for the fantastic story! I really enjoyed this! It goes less into the pure WAFF that some other 'rewind' stories do and goes deep into their relationship and training and the like. It was very very enjoyable to read! I hope you're still alive out there and will one day continue this story. I look forward to the reunion between Genma and Nodoka, as well as Cologne learning the truth! The revelations of the Dragon and the Phoenix were fascinating too! An excellent use of artifacts that have rarely been explored... plus the whole issue with Saffron and what is going on there! I'd really love to learn what happens in the future here, and I hope you one day return and enjoy yourself in writing it as I will enjoy reading it! Thank you!

SeanHicks4 chapter 7 . 5/7/2019
Interesting take, I appreciate the long chapters and the new insights...although it feels like a fundamental change going from an action/romance/harem manga/anime to a darker action/romance...might just be me though
Lover of Emotions chapter 7 . 2/16/2019
that is good. update soon please.
Ulfserkr909 chapter 5 . 2/2/2019
If I can say ought about this fic, it's that it's made me fall in love with "Ranma 1/2" all over again. The "re-do" aspect is right my alley-it's seriously one of my favourite things to see in a fic.

I haven't yet reached the end of chapter 5; notwithstanding, I wanted to let you know just how much I loved the fic as it's going along. I like that you kept both Akane and Ranma in character. It was interesting the way the wedding debacle at the end of series seems to indicate that their lives would've gone on much the same immediately after. You've done a good job of circumventing this. Who knows how Ranma in the manga would've dealt with the fact that he's 18 and has killed somebody (even if that somebody is almost immediately reborn).

One of the things that strikes me about the series as it appears in the manga is that-and this might possibly be just my own interpretation-at the end of the series, Takahashi's clock ran out and left both Akane and Ranma in a sort of state of perpetual childhood, almost: Almost as if having them get married would've made things *too* real. Marriage is something that adults do, and adults don't have time to go on silly adventures the way children do-at least not in the same way. It would've meant an end to the craziness, an end to the hilarious plot twists, and end to the comedy of errors: In other words, uninteresting. A manga about a normal married couple living a normal life wouldn't make all that much money unless something out of the ordinary happens, and Ranma and Akane's marriage would've put an end to that and all of the men's curses. I notice that InuYasha, a series that does tie up all the loose ends, stops after he and Kagome get married and just . . . settle down. Because I think that that's part of the trajectory that bildungsromans have: Growing up is an adventure and after that, it's time to get down to business as you internalise things like duty, work, and obligation. Children need to internalise a sense of responsibility in order to be successful adults, and I think that that delineation is much clearer in Takahashi's mangas

I think we all know that Ranma and Akane were meant to be understood as belonging together. What I like that you've done in this series is played with both Ranma and Akane's sense of responsibility. They've essentially grown up before their time. They're still so immature and yet they seem to be headed in the right direction. As a result of this maturing of the characters, a lot of the comedy of the original series is straight up gone, here-AND THAT'S FINE. I actually like it.

Since so much of what was originally played for laughs (P-chan, the bickering, etc.) is being taken much more seriously, I have to wonder whether at some point you're going to take Ganma's abuse of Ranma seriously, too. Like . . . on both psychological, emotional, and physical levels. I can't imagine that it was fun for Ranma to have been given a dissociative psychological state where he thinks he's a cat just because his dad can't read Chinese. And there's the fact that his dad KICKED HIM INTO THE FUCKING SPRING THAT CURSED HIM. I'd feel resentment against anybody that did that to me. Ryoga's forgiveness of Ranma made sense in your story, to me, because Ranma's actions which lead to Ryoga getting cursed were really accidental; but Ranma's dad kicked his own son into the spring-of course, he didn't know which one-AFTER he'd been turned into a panda.

I mentioned a comparison with InuYasha earlier-this fic actually reminds me of that series a lot in that InuYasha is playing for very high stakes and everything that the characters are doing is being done with a sense of purpose. That's an aspect which I'm DEFINITELY feeling here. InuYasha had experienced loss and death in his life from an early age and deals with a similar experience as Ranma as being a half-breed and gender-bent in any way are both VERY widely stigmatised positions to be in and neither are by choice.

One thing I was struggling with in your fic which wasn't really a big deal was the WHY of both Ranma and Akane's about-face when it came to their relationship when that turn around doesn't happen for the canon characters-they go right back to their zany ways. I think I've talked myself into a resolution and that's simply that Ranma's mien changes when he thinks Akane has died. If she really had died, as she did in your fic, I think it would've been *the* demarcation point for Ranma: the moment when he learned that actions can and do have permanent consequences-it would've made Ranma a "man" in the self-responsible adult sense of the word. It would've been a moment when he would've been introduced to deeper responsibilities beyond those which he owes, in a childlike way, to himself. But when that moment was taken back, and Akane lived, Ranma's growth was immediately reversed and he forgot everything he'd just said to Akane.

Despite the fact that you have the characters literally going back in time, the same effect doesn't take root in either Ranma or Akane because, I reason, in the situation as you have it written, Akane really does die. Ranma is stuck with the fact that, but for the Hail Mary he was given, both he and Akane would have died-and in your version actually DID die-without having actually told each other that they loved each other. Having his heart literally and spiritually crushed by Akane's actual death was his *too real* moment that he could never come back from.

In canon, I think we see the seeds of that kind of a transformation in Ranma right before he essentially retcons himself. When he cries at her death.

I'm too much of an English Lit PhD student when I shouldn't be, but I find your fic so completely engaging that I could easily write more on the fascinating dynamic that you have going on here in your fic. I think your depiction of the characters is right on point. I think that the description of the Ranma's PTSD is on point-not that I know about it personally (that I know of) but I've seen PBS documentaries about it that really do shudder me in a bad way. I like the wide use of vocabulary you have in your fic (the lit major in me "yay!"s whenever I see it) and I LOVE the way that you've shown Ranma and Akane maturing.

I liked how in the first chapter you dealt with Ranma feeling anger over Akane being assaulted by men every morning, but I think this Ranma with an adult mindset might have another motivation-not sure if you'll agree: Despite the fact that Ranma is a man, at times when he was physically a woman, he was sexually assaulted. He's been groped and molested! And the idea that someone would be willing to beat Akane in a physical fight in order to overpower her to force her to date them has some very problematic overtones for your Ranma (or so I imagine) since he's dealt with the same kind of assault; and while he's been sexually assaulted as both a man and a woman, in his female form it's A LOT creepier like when Kuno tried to force himself on Ranma when they were stranded together or when Densuke gave "her" drugs to knock "her" out and then took her to a hotel. Like, WTF?! So yeah, that's not something that I think your Ranma would easily forget. Now seeing Akane as being the potential victim of such an assault would, I imagine, be positively GALLING for him.

Your story touches on a lot of themes that I absolutely LOVE! Keep up the good work, and if i think of anything else, I'll post it in a review. This is excellent work. And I LOVE the long chapters! Have a wonderful day/evening, and I hope to be seeing more from you soon. Until next time!

this is really well done... I always love finding these stories because they are worth hunting for.
Reaper chapter 7 . 11/7/2018
I just finished re-reading the complete story. It has been one of my current favorites for a time now. Chapter 7 seemed a bit off though. I wonder what happened to the letter that Akane and Ranma gave to Shampoo before she returned. She was to give it to an elder to mitigate any punishments. Shouldn't she have remembered about this when her mother made a deal about the trouble she was in? Also interested in the modelling that Ranma and Akane had talked about in chapter 4, which in your profile you said you were going to remove. That was an interesting idea that had promise. Something to give a bit of comic relief, which any good Ranma story needs. I enjoy the long chapters and it's a nice read. Thanks for posting, even with the long wait between chapters.
