Been a long time since this story ended... shockingly for me, 'cause I just read it fully relatively recently and it's stood as a milestone in my head for Teen Titan fanficdom. It really deserves more attention. There are countless, absolutely bloody COUNTLESS stories that use Raven's emotions as various sorts of plot devices and antagonists, and I have no life so I've read most of 'em, but this story stands out above all the rest as an EXCELLENT use of the emotions, without which the story would not even exist. The ending in particular is SUCH a killer, totally logical and incredibly moving. Sorry for the caps, but I'm not sure if I can use italics for emphasis and this story really deserves a passionate review. ;) After all this time since the story ended, the chances of anyone even reading this are negligible, I suppose, but it's the principle of the thing... an incredible story should have all due tribute. This story's been a personal inspiration to me and should be required reading for all Raven-oriented fanfic authors.

ok, for this directors cut, there where a few things i didnt read because i wasnt interested in them, no offense, but i did read most of what you had to say... as for the alternate ending, didnt like it all that much and i liked the original better, i am glad you didnt have that as the ending in the story... now, as for the character stuff, i agree with you on most things, but i wont get into what i dont agree with just yet... the whole Starfire thing does deserve something though... i, personaly, think that Starfire is an annoying person that one can barely tolerate, at times... i mean, at some points, she is a great member of the team and is obviously there for a reason... she is powerful and has the potential to build a relationship with Robin, like we have seen in the show... but at other times, she annoys the hell out of me... i wont get into how, but the speech thing has something to do with it... i too am taking a Japanese class and i know what sentence patterns literaly translate to, so i know how it sounds, but still... now, as for the whole Trigon thing, i think it was a good idea to avoid him cause he is a complicated issue and should be given more consideration in the show before anyone using the show as their setup should write somehting about him... but that is just me... now as for the whole relationship thing goes, i believe i have stated my opinion on that matter many times before, so i dont think i need to repeat myself... but, as for the whole "opposites attract" thing, that only applies to magnets... i will say that i do hate Terra with a fiery passion that burns with the white hot intensity of a thousand suns... but despite that fact, and the fact that her role in the show is over, i wouldnt mind if the creators brought her back, just so there wouldnt be anymore Raven/BB moments, like at the end of "Spellbound"... now as for the rating thing, i too dont know how it works so i guess i understand why you didnt go into too much detail of the gore, but in one of my chapters of my story, i had something about blood pouring out of the mouth (in detail) and it hasnt been taken off from the PG-13 section... so i dont know what to tell ya... and as for the whole joke thing, i was joking to, or was i...? you dont know, do you...? but if you can note the sarcasm in my type, then im sure you can figure it out... and if you are wondering if this chapter is an acceptible posting or not, i posted an episode guide to season 4 and it never got taken down by "the man"... i took it down myself... holy crap i think this is the longest review i have ever done, so i will stop now... hope to see more of your work later on... laterz...

Thanks for sending that extra bit there, along with the explanations. I see you've thought a number of things out rather well. Rather impressive. But, Beast Boy and Raven do have a few more things in common that they haven't shown in the show yet.

Beast Boy may be all happy and joking on the outside, but he's past is far from all that happy. Few people know this, but the reason why he doesn't have parents is because of his own hands. I don't know how it happened, but in his past, something happened that caused all of the animal instincts and animal minds within him to suddenly go out of control and fight for dominance over his mind, turning him into a raging, shapeshifting chimera of sorts. While he was like this, he ended up destroying his own village, and when he nearly has gotten back control over his powers, something scares his animal instincts, and he ends up killing his kind and loving parents with his own bare hands. He started his joking exterior in order to hide the hurt that he feels inside of him all the time, so him and Raven are more alike in that they've both experienced great tragedies in their pasts.

Not only that, but they are always there for one another. Beast Boy is always there for Raven to help convince her that she's not entirely evil, while slowly getting her to experience more emotions, while Raven's logic helps to explain to Beast Boy what he doesn't understand. So, Beast Boy's knowledge of emotions helps Raven emotionally and spiritually, and Raven's knowledge and logic helps Beast Boy with what his heart can't understand.

Also, as for Trigon, he's basically imbued Anger with a part of his essence. This essence strengthens whenever Raven's angry. Trigon keeps an eye on this emotion on a common basis, because he desires his daughter's powers to help him with his conquering and mayhem. The angrier she is, the more likely it is that he could do that. Plus, Raven is actually a little more powerful than her father, and he imbued his essence in her to pry on her weakness, so as to take her over from the inside.

And as for Raven feeling, she can very well feel enough in order to live a normal life, but she just doesn't reallize it. The truth is, as long as she accepts her emotions, it's very unlikely to do any damage, and even if it did THEN, it would probably only be something small like a vase. But, she's ALWAYS worrying about it, fearing that she might hurt those closest to her, and she does not want to take any chances with that. It's this constant worry coupled with her other powers that causes her powers to go haywire. Because she worries about this almost every day(proof being that she meditates every day to keep her powers in check), her worry is among her most powerful of emotions(except for Love and Anger of course_). If she were not to worry so much, she COULD feel just enough to live a normal life. She'd still be rather quiet, and not be able to full out laugh, but she'd be able to live enough to love. That was proven through Malchior.

At least, that's what I think anyways. I thought I'd tell you these, since it might help you with your later chapters involving them(like this great story you've written here). Oh, and as for not copying ideas, it's alright as long as you ask the author's approval first. That's what Demigod and I did with "Seven Years' Bad Luck in One Day". We asked Happy-Raven's approval before we started it. Just thought I'd tell you this.;)

That was SO good! You really did the Raven-emotion thing quite well. Also, the thing about how the duplicates were individual entities with tendencies to lean towards a particular emotion of Raven's wasn't too complicated at all. And the murder mystery thing was inspired! - This is such a great ficcie, and I really loved how you laid out the separate emotions- since only Sad, Brave, and Happy are really shown in detail in the series (or rather, what I have seen of it). Keep writing!

dude, i think your author notes thing in this chapter was longer than the actual story itself... and what is up with thinking the Sad (Timid) emotion is sex-ay? she is a cartoon character (although Raven is pretty hot)... OK! this is getting weird so enough of that... i agree with you on short stories... some people might like long stories, but sometimes, most of the chapters are just filler space and dont really progress the story any... i personaly write stories that around 9 chapters in length and to me that is just fine, and long enough for me... now as for the story itself, i am sad to see it end... you had me worried there for a bit with Raven coming to BB's door, but there was no fluffy crappy stuff so i am thankful for that... cant wait till the directors cut thing... anyway, i liked this a lot and once again, i am sad to see it end... a few things though... when the Ravens were getting killed, you could have gone into a little bit more detail, like describe their flesh getting ripped apart, and the blood curdling screams that came... just a bit more detail and then you are ready to get going on your next... well, update the directors cut asap... i think even this review is longer than this last part of the story... laterz...

Well I have to say this was a well done fic and actually I think the first Teen Titans fic that I've read all the way through on FF.N. So kudos for that.

Now as for the story itself, you're right, it really didn't need to be much longer. Everything flowed together nicely and though some of the chapters could probably have been longer, it didn't fell like the NEEDED to be longer. Plus the rather short quick chapters helped capture the feel of the show, which is always a plus. Not only that but everyone sounded IC. VERY nice job on that.

For your mystery part, I have to admit that I didn't figure it out until I started putting all the edivence togehter with Robin. I felt exactly like I was there with him putting it all together. So again good job on that.

I suppose my only complaint, and this is just ME, was that I kept waiting for Smart Raven to bust out some John Doe style impossbily large, complex equations and what not to figure it out. But like I said, that's just me and your probably don't have any clue what I'm talking about.

Anyway, I throughly enjoyed this fic and look forward to the director's cut and any other fics you may write in the future.
