What is so fascinating to me about this first chapter is how well it fits with canon, given that you wrote it so long ago (and before we knew the truth about Itachi). Really great. And tragic.

both interpretations are very different. This is very...depressing and angsty. especially the last sentence.

the previous one had an ironic ending. But I like this one better.

You have a very wide range in writing. You can do humor excellently as well as angst, drama, and romance. Plus, you keep the characters IC.

it felt empty... emotionally... empty like u'r about to kill u'r mother just as u'r about to her the last kiss she'll ever get from u before getting buried... that kind of empty...

Love them both! -sigh- I haven't been able to find many good Mikoto and Itachi fictions, (perhaps I'm not looking well enough?), but I enjoyed this very much so. It made me smile and well, sad at the same time.
