I don't know if you have been on this site recently at all, but a few days ago I've taken up to re-reading my favorite book Abarat. I was suddenly hit with a desire to look at fan art, and I stumbled across your story in Deviant Art and fell in love with it. I consider Christopher Carrion one of my favorite characters and I must say I really do enjoy your story very much; it is definitely my favorite out of the few that I have read here and there. I just wanted to tell you what a good job you have done with it so far and I am really hoping that you will be able to add more to it, when you can of course.

I really want to read more of this fic. you never see any really good christopher carrion fics now-a-days. Please don't just stop i really watn to read more of it.

This is... Wow, there are no words for this. Amazing isn't good enough, nor is stunning, spectacular,extraordinary, awesome, incredible, or remarkable. Take your pick; that's the closest I can get. Unlike some others, you took the time to correct grammar and spelling (so annoying), and still pay attention to details. I love this story; please post the next chapter soon. I hope to see more of Carrion, as well as our fair lady. :)

Hello! I finally found a minute to come and read this. I went back a few chapters to get back into the story, and cetainly would not have guessed that there had been a long gap between updates. I can't wait to know what you have planned for them all. Your fic is very visual, there is always just the right amount of description so that you can make a picture.

That's a nod to Last Unicorn, right? And it fits so beautifully. I like Yseult, and I hope she will come through all of this relatively unscathed - with Carrion or without him. I like the interaction, very well written, very plausible; well, perhaps she's only so hung up on him because he's been her only constant contact besides her sisters - take away the isolation and her feelings might sort themselves out. But if she's really falling for him - ouch, poor dear, in for a few nasty surprises yet, I guess.

But that's for you to know and for me to (hopefully soon *hint hint*) find out!

Read the entire piece in one sitting when I ought to have been revising some of my own work. Thought it was terrific. The story is lovely and the character development is coming along very well. Poor Yseult - stuck with everyone's worst houseguest - a bored Carrion. Love that he's not softened and as wonderfully nasty, bitter and brittle as he ought to be with that peculiar blend of self-importance and self-loathing.

Thought the last chapter shifted a little abruptly from Y's very complicated feelings for Carrion (well done on those confused and complicated feelings for him and his for her.) to her feelings on Fortune. But I think that's simply me wanting to know what happens next. I'm wondering why she appeared less enthralled with him at the end of the chapter - so many possibilties with the voyage as a welcome return to a more normal existance, the opportunity to enjoy her longstanding desire to sail or a less troublesome and complicated love interest or a friend.

Also, the Rasputina! I had to turn on How We Quit the Forest.

I'm interested to see what Carrion has up his sleeve and how Yseult will respond. Update soon please.

I was just so excited to see your update that I had to leave a comment. I've been checking up on this thing for years now. Glad to see it hasn't been abandoned... because it is the BEST thing in this category. Period.
