Reviews for Commitment
LogicFan chapter 1 . 8/31/2016
Dang, this was sadly sweet. It's true how Harley's relationship with The Joker is toxic and unhealthy yet it makes her the happiest she's ever been. In a way yes, Joker did free her a chaotic nature she never knew she had before. He awakened the damaging human nature in her; she's his proudest programming yet. Well done!

ah a very satisfying look into Harley's mind over those fatal moments! I liked the way you wrote this, it felt very spot-on. :D
Wicked Glinda chapter 1 . 8/25/2007
This whole this was amazing.. but it was the ending that really got to me :

"As they escort me down the cold, dark halls, I start to giggle. Soft, merry giggles – delighted, upbeat. Mistah J always said I was made for laughter. So I laugh for him, and I glow. The whole world glows. My giggles glow for him. They dance and bounce on the air, jump and skip down the halls, they summersault through the ventilation shafts."

The whole giggling description was too perfect, seeing as it just is so out of place in the cold world of Arkham, and it just bundles up the whole fic so neatly, allowing us to see how Harley really views things, how she refuses to be anything less then joyful, if only for her Mistah J...

And the last part...:

I hope he hears them, and smiles.

That is just so tragic and yet so HARLEY. I almost teared up when reading that...okay, I DID tear up.

More, please. More, More, More.

The Tiramisu Of Impending Doom chapter 1 . 10/10/2005
Sweet and creepy. How the hell does that work? Oh, right. The Joker. Heheheheh. Hey Mistah J! Puddin'! Lovely little story here.
TheMadPuppy chapter 1 . 10/6/2005
"I tell him I’m in love. It’s reciprocated, of course."

From there I was hooked. Heart of our Harley romance: she does the questions and the answers. We were in love. Reciprocated? But of course.

" I can’t understand how a guy so clever can be so slow. I got it right away when Mistah J explained it to me, I instantly understood it."

And as she will say later, of course not, she's not under his thumb. She hates being pushed around and all that stuff.

Does being the puppet, strings attached to his fingers, counts as "being under his thumb"?

"I’m a pro, he’s an amateur."

God I loved that line!

"...he needs me to prove how much I love him. He needs proof, needs me to do something to show him how strongly I feel, needs me to let my actions tell him that I’ll love him forever. He needs evidence like how willing I am to put myself on the line for him, by breaking him out, lodging him at my place sometimes, smuggling him weapons… Something really meaningful like that. Nothing says I love you like a get-out-out-jail-free card. People need the strangest assurances sometimes. My poor Puddin’…"

One of the strongest moment of the fic, in my humble opinion. Like a first stone. This whole psycho love just makes sense by this little, tiny paragraph, resumed by this apparently superfluous sentence: nothing says I love you like a get-out-of-jail-free card. It suggest prison, it suggests crime, it suggests game, it suggests sacrifice (that's a precious card!).

" So what if he’s a psychotic killer? A girl learns to overlook these things."

HAHAHAHAHA! OH MY GOD MY STOMACH HURTS! *tries to breathe* Well, you're perfectly right! So what he's a mass-murdering psychopatic clown? *grins madly*

"I’m committed now; I’m committed to our relationship. I’m binding myself. I got a one-track mind now. It’s official; on paper and everything. I’ll stick with you to the end, Puddin’. It’ll never end between you and me"

*whistles darkly* That sounds even worse than a wedding contract. I don't pledge only my life to you: I pledge my soul and whatever it's after!

These comments aside, I really liked it (read it twice before reviewing!) It's a little dusted, but you get Harley firmly (although I found her a little too much enthusiastic and naïve about spilling it out to . Just a zest too much). They always say that Harley is delusional, but I've never really felt it. But reading your fic, it was clear as day. Thanks for that!
