This is really, really good so far! Although I think you should put some indicator that you are moving from one place to another... it gets sort of confusing. I'm really glad that I'm not any of the cul-de-sac kids right now. Excellent story, keep up the good work!

I'll bet that the darkness outside is some sort of evil force, the darkness that enveloped Jonny and Plank is the same evil force that's outside, and that the evil force took over Jonny's body and will take over everyone elses body which will cause them to fight against each other and cause some of them to get killed. I know that that was a little dark but that's what I think. Adios.
