michalmil chapter 1 . 7/21
Great story, one of my favorite in all fan fiction. Will you continue it?
IHufflepuff chapter 52 . 7/6
Great story and style of writing. A pity that it's discontinued.
OnceAPotterHead chapter 52 . 6/13
Absolutely love your characterization of Snape! May be my favorite I’ve read!
seeminglymeaningless chapter 30 . 4/13
I stopped reading here. There were a lot of reasons why, mainly author-convenience plot points, like not apparating out of Brazil, Snape being taken to Azkaban with no pay off, Harry taken out of the Dursley's despite the blood wards, everything to do with Umbridge, Voldemort not killing Snape when he had the chance, Snape not immediately getting a replacement eye and leg, Moody's mentorship of Snape, Dumbledore's incompetence... It was just all very... Common. But your story did keep me intrigued for 30 long chapters, so there were obviously quite a few redeeming qualities. I think you wrote this with a plot in mind but didn't really think how each plot point really linked, which is why it's so forced a lot of the time. Anyway, thank you for taking my mind off covid19 for a day.

I know this is unfinished and you wrote it a long time ago, but I have really enjoyed reading it, thank you.
dragonBug27 chapter 52 . 3/10
Oh gosh... I'm at the end *cries*. I very much enjoyed reading this despite knowing it would end too soon (having had a peek at the comments before starting). Harry becoming Severus' little shadow happened quite organically which I enjoyed immensely and Severus being outed and punished by V and his Death Eaters for being a traiter was a fresh change from the "Snape saves Harry at a Death Eater meeting" trope. Please do come back and continue this story anytime. Xx

I love Snapes sarcasm. Most of the time was laughing. I also love how Snape is slowly tolerating Harry. I love this
Murai-Sakura chapter 52 . 10/15/2019
This story was absolutely amazing!
It's a shame that you never finished it but it was a fantastic read so far anyway.

I personally would have preferred to see more interaction between Harry and snape once they left the jungle but that want was remedied by all the Snapyness.

I especially loved the sarcastic way Snape thinks in your story. It's caused me to laugh out loud multiple times per chapter. And the fun only increased once you introduced Moody. I was always kind of neutral towards that character but you made him into an amazingly engaging persona that works very well with Snape. They may trade insults and hexes on occasion but I think that they both sort of enjoy it in a kind of mental way.

You portrayed every character so well! It was fun to read about each and every one of them. I would never have the guts to permanently maim someone in one of my own fics but you do and you made it into something amazing.

I envy your talent. You are a very good writer. One of the best I've encountered on this site not to mention that you're far better than most of the published authors I've read stories from.

I suppose you won't update this anymore but I've put an alert on your story just in case.
Thank you for having written as much as you already did. It was an absolute joy to lose myself in your creation.

Yours,
MS

Oh man, I really truly love this! I first discovered this story a few months before it was abandoned, and I keep coming back to it 8 years later. I sometimes hope there'll be a new chapter before I reach the end, but alas, Snape and Moody still remain in purgatory.
okemm chapter 39 . 7/3/2019
Loved these last couple chapters (38&39). They were a really nice reworking of the ministry battle and I love Snape being fatherly to Harry. Every time that dynamic drifts away a bit, I find myself missing it. :)
Guest chapter 52 . 5/11/2019
why did you stop?
okemm chapter 21 . 4/30/2019
I'll get the canonical knit-picking out of the way first: Snape is a double agent so it doesn't make sense that voldi would be at all bothered about the order meeting (though if he simply decided he was fed up with Snape's bs and wanted him gone, well...). Polyjuice does change the drinker's voice counter to what was in the films. Wands can't be replaced by someone else, the user has to go and be matched to a new wand, "the wand chooses the wizard" and whatnot.
(Could use a going over for typos and punctuation, but I totally understand it's long and that could take ages, and I hope I'm not just being a redundant jerk by mentioning it - and if I am, I apologize profusely!)

Okay, now the good bits:
I know this is quite an old project, but I'm really, really enjoying it! - especially after being away from this fandom for a while. It's fun and very compelling story-wise, and I find myself laughing constantly at Snape's internal dialogue as well as his snarky quips; you really wrote him very well. And I'm a sucker for some good character torture. Lol.

I'm looking forward to eventually finding out what you did for prosthetics, both his arm and his eye, and I'm interested to see if he finally decides to take a more fatherly role where Harry is concerned. I loved the little bonding moments they had in the jungle way back at the start, and the few that have happened since. They always make me grin myself silly. The dynamic you've established between them is wonderful and nuanced, but just as imperfect as it should be given how much they but heads. Beautiful work!

Thank you for this story and for sharing it! It's bringing me lots of joy right when I needed it. :)
Guest chapter 7 . 4/20/2019
I’ve just realised that you hadn’t had Harry or Severus mention once the heat difference between hogwarts and South America. As it would be September time it would be their spring and quite warmer. I would imagine Harry at least complaining about the heat.
Guest chapter 3 . 4/19/2019
I wonder how close we are to the edge of the jungle…if we could get to some sort of settlement, we might be able to get transportation to somewhere on the floo network. He knew there was a fairly large wizarding population in Rio de Janeiro, but that was in the south…surely there would be someone in closer cities who could help them. “Unfortunately, he had never been to Brazil and therefore had no target that he could use to for apparition. And he could hardly apparate them across an entire ocean back to England, so it seemed that walking was their only option. "I don't suppose you speak Spanish or Portuguese?" he asked absently.”

So Snape knows where The wizarding community is in Brazil but doesn’t know that Hogwarts is in Scotland not England.
ArcReactorsandDragons chapter 52 . 4/18/2019
AHHHHHHHHH I am so sAd, you say this hasn't been abandoned but sksksks like 8 years have passed so, I'm assuming it has
But anyway by AHHHHHHHHH I mean bloody hell I love this, not many Snape POV's are very well done but this? This is a masterpiece
Though allow me to say I had NO idea where the beginning was going, the first part with Harry and.. Macan(?) was pretty followable enough, and I thought it'd develop enough from there but then JESUS CHRIST they end up in Brazil? I've no idea if that was just a really complicated plot for Harry and Snape to become more friendlier, or as a reason for the introduction for Occulemency, or to show Harry's home life but holy shit I loved it.
And I was NOT expecting Snape to lose and arm? And eye? But that was great and added so smoothly, also the... enemies? Friendship? Frenemies? Relationship of Moody and Snape is one that I will treasure Sksksk
Oo and Harry! And there relationship too, and how their progress is so natural that one moment you're seeing them argue and him being arrogant and obnoxious is a horrible manner, the next he's allowing him to sleep in his quarters but yeah I absolutely this fic, and you're writing, and I read this in 24 hours, I accidentally fell asleep reading it wow, but thank you so much for writing! This is ana amazing price of work, and should you ever choose to return to it, it'd be wonderful, if not? Enjoy your peace from writing this! Writing such loooooong chapters can't be easy (and Jesus, I don't think I've ever got up to the word length you have, that's an impressive feat)
So again, thank you!
