It's a great story but that final wedding request disappoints me. The way Christine asks Erik to take off his mask for their wedding cause apparently, she cant marry a mask, its extremely selfish. I know you make it sound as if it's alright for Erik because "all else fades" and all that shit but thats just so unrealistic. I mean come on, that mask is for his comfort as well, and while I can clearly see that you are trying so hard to aim for "acceptance", I just cant help but imagine how Erik would actually feel if he were a real person. Im sorry, but each to their own I guess. This is just my opinion. Overall, your book is great. Its just that request that irks me.

I'm gushing. I loved loved loved loved this modern AU. Such greatly developed characters, such witty dialogue, such great pacing in the story!

This story has made me so happy. It's just - so perfect. It's a modern version of what should have happened. It's an original story with well-known characters. It's - really really special. It makes me want to write fan fiction for it. ;)
Thank you so much for writing this. My only wish is that it was longer, but it has to end somewhere and going on longer might have been pushing it. The story was complete.

Your treatment of instruments in this chapter was super accurate. Christine vomiting when she saw the music room - I probably would too. Nadir truly becoming worried when he heard about Erik's instruments - destroying my instruments is tantamount to biting my finger off, and I'm not even half the musician Erik is. And when he went back down for his mask AND HIS VIOLIN - any musician would do the same, especially for an instrument as expensive as Erik's.

You have no idea how much I love this story being based on Washington. We don't get nearly enough publicity, and for a story I love this much to be based here...

Ok, this chapter:
I loved that but with the old lady; don't ask me why but I love shocked people in stories.
Erik took off his mask and I loved both of their reactions. It felt realistic, sweet, and tragic.
First kiss!
And a couple notes about music terms (If you're even willing/able to update at this point. It's nothing big, so if you leave it it's fine): I have never heard a musician say "three quarter time". Rather, it is said "three four time" (but I'm not a pro so for all I know it could be valid for some people/situations). Also, a flute comes in three pieces, so "myriad" doesn't really feel like the right word.
