I like how you write Yukiko and Yusaku, I really wish that more people would write about Yukiko. Sorry I'm bad at reviews. :(

Such a great one-shot, and it's nice to see a story showing that Yukiko Kudo at least has a strong parental instinct! Since Aoyama's details on Shinichi's parents was sketchy at best in the beginning of his story, this is a nice piece that fills in the gaps, and helps to add some humanity to Yukiko and Yuusaku.

I would love to see you write a companion piece to this story, one that covers the events from after Conan realizes his kidnappers were actually his parents, up until the point where Mrs. Edogawa returned her son to the Mouris' home. Did Yukiko spend some time squeezing her regressed son half to death, turning back the clock to when he was little, and she could dote on him? Did Shinichi's parents give him a tongue-lashing for not keeping them up-to-date with what had happened to him? Did Yuusaku drive him nuts berating his mistake for what led to his predicament, or did Yukiko spend the time mothering him, and telling him stories of when he was little the first time around? Maybe they made Shinichi pay a price for staying in Japan, like making him go sit for a new family portrait, or letting them take him to the zoo, in full little-boy mode, riding on his dad's shoulders, holding his mother's hands while she got him an ice cream. Whatever would mortify the already-pissed shrunken teenager, there are a lot of fun possibilities there!

... Why did I not review this story before? I'm sorry! I really like the idea of Yukiko having a maternal instinct. I am certain that despite her sometimes ditzy exterior and Yuusaku's laziness, both of them care very deeply for Shinichi. And yes, I'm surprised she was patient enough to wait several weeks before flying to Japan, but Conan wouldn't be as much fun otherwise, ne?

You are the most prolific Detective Conan writer I've seen! I am very slowly reading my way through your plethora of work, though I usually leave anonymous reviews.

Yes! Yukiko love! :o) There aren't many fics quite like this... actually, I don't think I've ever seen a fic about what happened right before the first manga appearance of the Kudou parents...
