Oh, this was excellent! Interesting but without real drama, fun and I got a bit more about Lorne and his team, there can never be enough of background-information, right? It's what fiction is for ;-)

You know I really liked this piece. I enjoyed the Lorne and Sheppard interaction and getting to see the interaction with the marines. I liked the Zoomies comment, that was funny. Hey at least the IOA didn't decide to bring in the Navy. Thanks.

Hee hee. Love your stories with John and Lorne up to shenanigans and seeing Lorne's marines. The teenage girl part is classic.

The ending was a bit abrupt. You had all this tension building up and then nothing happened. I feel like there should be another chapter. I did really enjoy what was here though, great writing.

One minor quibble, according to yuor story "Lorne... . He'd gotten the gene therapy before he'd boarded the Daedalus and it had taken, so he at least got a glimpse of what it must be like."

However it's implied in several episodes that Lorne, like Sheppard and Beckett, has the gene naturally. It's particularly stated that 'Coup D'Etat' (S2)that "...The circulated wanted posters were for Atlantis personnel with the Ancient gene, to aid their experiments." (Lorne gets kidnapped.)

It (to my knowledge) hasn't been stated how *strong* a gene Lorne has, (Sheppard's is supposedly the strongest with Beckett's close behind.)but it is implied that he has it naturally. You may want to adjust your story accordingly. But other than that? You were spot on...particularly with the running commentary! I like this!
