Guest chapter 1 . 8/27/2015
What an interesting take on the story, I enjoyed it.
Ranuel chapter 1 . 4/15/2012
I really like the idea of the title and responsibilities of Dungeonmaster being passed on like this. Especially since in RL DMs really do start as players and progress into running their own games. The meta and the in 'verse situation interacting like that is one thing that the best of the episodes had too. Seeing a grown up Eric is always nice too. You did a good job of letting us know who ended up with who and their fates without it coming across as infodumping.
Sanchica chapter 1 . 8/23/2010
Oh wow… I was already crying whilst reading this wonderful story, but at the end one cycle finished and another one began, just how life works. Maybe, if we would take careful glances around, we would all see Dragons.
Bluetiger chapter 1 . 12/13/2008
It was only as I was reading this again, almost a year after I first read it, that I finally realised just what you had done with the various pairings, and the underlying tragedy of Eric's personal life (but then I can be quite dense sometimes). :o

The central idea of this oneshot is just so beautifully sad, that Eric should be the one to return, and that, in a way, he'd always known that he would be, was actually quite moving. Oh, and I quite like the idea of the new Dungeon Master using those cryptic riddles to guide his pupils, there's a sort of ironic symmetry to it all. _
Jan Lee chapter 1 . 3/2/2008
There isn't anything I can say that someone else has already said. This was a 'words cannot describe how I felt' piece. And can you BELIEVE it, I actually got sloppy? To think Eric, the one character who wanted to go home the most out of all them, actually RETURNS to the Realm? And as DM? Masterful. Just. Masterful.

bardsgrl4evr chapter 1 . 1/27/2007
Got to honest, I've never heard of any of those characters before reading your piece, but through your work I feel as if I had known the people my whole life. You created a beautiful masterful oh wonderful author. I do look forward to reading other bits and pieces by you. Good luck on your writing journey in the future.

Ciao,

FortressMaximus chapter 1 . 12/19/2006
A quirky, nice little story! Nice to see Eric come full circle in a sense, back to the Realm and to a role he probably never expected to inhabit when he first donned DM's garb back in the day. Sorry to see Hank and Sheila not wind up together and I always figured Presto and Dianna would work out but still well done and a nice read overall.
Ersatz chapter 1 . 6/13/2006
So achingly, achingly bittersweet. Perfect.

Now if you'll excuse me, I seem to have something in my eye...
SithelfJen chapter 1 . 6/9/2006
Very nice story.
tiylaya chapter 1 . 6/9/2006
I just want to say that this was beautiful. It's the first piece of D&D fiction I've read and it's encouraged me to read more. I loved how it encapsulated both the sadness and the strength that the legacy of such an experience might have left behind.
Collette Rivers chapter 1 . 5/25/2006
I loved it! Sad but tragically beautiful! Such a lot in such a short piece. I love reading your fanfic.

marajade963 chapter 1 . 5/21/2006
I've really enjoyed this. It was sad yes, but there was a way forward. I like the idea of Eric becoming DM, he is after all the one who always remembers what's been said to them. And then there's the whole having been DM for a short while.
elektralyte chapter 1 . 5/20/2006
Great fic. I love the idea of Eric as the Dungeon Master! Very original...
