I'm gonna be honest, I expected him to be sorted into Slytherin but I suppose you're right, it will force some sort of interaction between the two. And I'm going to miss Ron too since he's off with the alleged 'boy-who-lived'. Also, Orian won't have the invisibility cloak since James probably gave it to Hayden -or kept it to himself?- so this is going to make sneaking around a LOAD harder. Really interesting story so far, can't wait to finish it!

Eh, I'm not very impressed with lazy writers who follow canon. If I wanted to read canon, I'd just reread the series because CANON HAS ALREADY BEEN WRITTEN. Bah.

Chapters 1 & 2 were great, but this chapter is mostly word-for-word straight from JKR's book. I've already read that. I don't think I can wade through acres of canon to find out about Orion's intriguing past.

Instead of doing something more, you just took an idea and bypassed through all the events in an totally underwhelming manner.

I'm not quite sure how Neville would turn out as timid as in canon when his parents are alive, nor how the same excuse as in canon would still apply.

The Gryffindor choice seems ok, but meeting Hermione on the train this way feels contrived and picking Hedwig is just unnecessary and unlikely unless you want to introduce totem animals next.
