Well done! The action of the battle was believable, and easy to follow, the growing affection between the brothers worthy of Narnia.

I like it very mucho, although I think breaking the Witch’s wand would be the deed that made Ed a knight. But then his Knight name would be too long, I guess... anyway, great story and great storytelling!

I know you wrote this forever ago, but I've been on a Narnia binge lately and this is the first story I've felt is deserving of a review. Your understanding of Edmund and Peter is fabulous. And your battle scenes are wonderful! Very exciting to read and easy to understand. Thank you for writing this!

I realized I'm a horrible friend who never reviewed this story. I love you and hate you in equal parts, as I tell you almost daily. So, I'm really bit sure what else I could say except, I think this story gave me my first girl crush on you before I was I brave enough to talk to you. A decision, while I might bemoan to you about, I've never regretted. At least I think it was this story? The time seems right- I don't know. Just keep doing what you do and keep me in suspense! I would threaten to withhold coffee to get you to write more- but seeing as how you arise at ungodly hours, it becomes a tacitful disadvantage to me, because then I would have to get up at stupid o'clock in the morning.

So in short- I love you, and hate you. Goodnight!

I really loved this

I has been 6 years since I first read this story, and it still has the same power as it did the first time I found it. The battle itself was, and still is, so vivid that I had to shake myself when it was done, drawing breath as if I'd been the one fighting. I still love how the tradition of giving a new knight two kisses atop the head got started-all because Edmund's hair was marginally cleaner than his face! :-)

And now I want to go re-read your other stories of the other knightings: Heydensrun and White Armor Ball... so I think I will. :-)

I do hope that you will be blessed with a returned and cooperative muse so you can continue your unfinished stories, but I do understand what it is like to be bereft of words when they just will not come. It has been literally years since I have had words for my unfinished Lord of the Rings stories-with no muse in sight. I wonder if mine and yours are living it up on a secret beach somewhere? *grin*

Nice story, great action, loved the brother's interaction. I liked that some of the trees were bad guys, that was totally unexpected. It did pose a question, though, just how does one punish an errant tree? Thank you.

I love boys. I love them a lot. I love it the most when boys are loving, loyal, and affectionate in a way which is more beautiful because it is nonsexual. Which is why I really can't read any Harry/Ron or Frodo/Sam or Carlisle/Edward slash. Once the relationship is cast in sexual terms it becomes...cheaper. On a Twilight forum we once had a whole discussion how, in previous centuries, males (even all the straight ones) were much more physically affectionate with each other. But geez, I once had Carlisle hug Edward and kiss him on the forehead in one of my stories, and a reader left a review that it totally weirded her out. Since you write brothers, and in another fandom, you seem to be able to get away with a lot more, and I am LOVING it. Really, the way you write the characters of Peter and Edmund and their relationship is something I truly treasure.

Right now I really don't care that Lewis had another story for Edmund's knighting (I really don't remember it anyways, but it has been a while), it seems completely fitting for Edmund to be knighted by Peter.

I see that you write a lot in First POV, which is fine, when it comes to writing fanfiction I think it is best to just tell the story in whatever way the author finds easiest, and leave the advanced mechanics of Best Form to the trained professionals. But I must say, you use First to best extent possible, using it delve into the character's narrative completely. I'm thinking mostly of Edmund's section in Ch 4 starting with "Oh, Peter, how did you know?" "I", "you", "them," and every other pronoun is well used, and the use of present and past tense in the mix is spot on, making it even more resonant. Beautiful and well done.

This was absolutely brilliant and I loved it to peices. You show the love Edmund and Peter have for each other perfectly, as well as keeping everyone in character effortlessly.
