Reviews for Where The Road Leads
reannablue chapter 12 . 1/28/2018
Dean being a part of Sam'scollege life and hunting on the side is my dream outcome for these two. Thanks for the story!
mouse8 chapter 12 . 10/15/2007
I think this is the first "after" story that's worked for me! After everything they wouldn't turn their backs either on each other or deny help where it was needed. Dean could never stop being there for his brother. This was plausible and in character. thanks!

That was a good story. Not your traditional action story but still good. Well, Toodles!

K Hanna Korossy chapter 1 . 7/15/2006
Wonderfully gentle, sweet story. I love that you bring the guys together so quickly and that Dean knows something wrong and is so supportive as Sam sorts it out. This is a post-hunt view of the series I can definitely live with, staying together and combining their "normal lives" with the better parts of hunting. Lovely.
Palo Alto chapter 12 . 6/19/2006
Great ending, and the last two paragraphs; I'd say they found their calling and balance. Well done!

I said it before, but I say it again, the way you write both of the brothers is impressive and totally insightful. Another thing I truly enjoyed were your little revelations throughout the whole fanfic which described the essence of the character(s) so well.

"He liked school and had the need to graduate, but outside of class, everything was so empty." - it holds so much truth and is straight to the point hence even more effective.

The whole idea of Jess 'visiting' Dean to get to Sam worked really good. I think in this moment Dean also got a glimpse of who and what his brother lost that night. And Dean cooking breakfast for Sam, you gotta love that :D

"I can put stuff in a box and put it anywhere." One of my favorite lines, it is just so Dean, sacrificing, downplaying his own needs, because he knows where he's needed, where he belongs.

"'I love you, Jessica. I always will.'

Jessica looked into Sam’s eyes. 'I know you will. But not so much that you don’t live your life, okay?'"

*sniffle* beautifully sad, as was the whole final Sam/Jess scene!

Thanks for a great read and hope to see another fanfic from you soon!
Faye Dartmouth chapter 12 . 6/18/2006
I really love the story arc of this fic. I love the slow revelation that Sam is holding onto Jessica-he's the one who's metaphorically putting her on the ceiling with her guilt-not letting himself let go of his guilt and remember the good times with her. I think that's dead on-we haven't seen Sam deal with his grief at all, and until he does, he'll always be somewhat trapped by the tragedy that befell him.

Also, interesting in how Dean comes to realize that Sam will never truly be happy without the hunt. Even though Sam and Dean are leading normal lives, I doubt they'd ever be able to turn a blind eye to the supernatural that is wreaking havoc around them.

And Dean had to move to Palo Alto. The brothers, once things are out in the open between them, have to be together. They can't truly move ahead by themselves.

Ultimately I like the resolution here. It's a compromise that I find promising and realistic. It's a way to balance hunting and real life, which is probably the happiest ending I can think of. Also, great way to ease his premonitions. I've always worried that those nasty visions would be the thing that would keep Sam from normalcy, so I'm glad you didn't ignore them. And really, Sam could never be happy in one world or another. He needs them both.

I'm so rambling :) But this fic made me think. I really enjoyed it. I look forward to your next multichapter offering :) (hint, hint...)

Ridley C. James chapter 1 . 6/18/2006
I just had to review now that this lovely story is finished. I enjoyed it so much. I can't really explain it, but the overall feeling weaved throughout was just perfect-just how I guess I hope it would be if the brothers ever did try to go on with their life. And you're right, Dean probably would want to gouge his eyes out, but I think you pulled him off beautifully in all his big brother glory. He wasn't overly sappy and I loved that he embraced somewhat of his normal life, and that Sam had the difficulty going on. Just wonderful. I hope you do another in this series sometime.

Halcyon Impulsion chapter 12 . 6/17/2006
LOL my wish is your command? Thansk for letting us inside Dean's head :) I have to say, this is some of the best Jess and Sam stuff I've read. You really give her a strong voice. Thanks for the story :)
Halcyon Impulsion chapter 11 . 6/17/2006
“Someone told me they have bars in Palo Alto.”

So how is Dean *really* feeling about all this, packing up and moving? I can't get a read. I know he wants to take of Sam, but... what's going through his head?
Onari chapter 12 . 6/17/2006
I know I kinda mentioned it before, but I love you even more now after the ending *sigh*. It was an amazing story, I've really really enjoyed it. I hope to read more from you soon!

daisymaygirl1 chapter 12 . 6/17/2006
I really loved this story and the last chapter was beautiful. This was just heartbreaking -

“She’s going to say goodbye, isn’t she?”

“Yeah.” Dean said quietly.

“I don’t want her to.”

As was Jess and Sam's final goodbye.

Hope to see more of your stories soon.
