I took a brief hiatus from this story when it was looking like a romance (not my cup of tea) but now I’m glad I gave it another look!

I especially like how you’ve tied Danny’s controlled state back to the wonderful description in the opening chapter of how much he enjoys being free of his human body’s noises. And the remote Montana setting (nice to see such a specific location, must look it up on a map) is a nicely specific touch.

Another nice touch was the way Sam described her Danny, as somebody with foibles and quirks. You came up with a great list of foibles and quirks.

I also wonder whether they’re going to settle for escaping, or whether he (or Sam) will insist on freeing his fellow prisoners from the aamil’s grasp. I do treasure Danny’s rare moments of solidarity with other ghosts (Wulf, Clockwork, the Dairy King) when he doesn’t have to defend himself or beat them to a pulp.

You can do better next time? Really? Because this was wonderful.

Awesome chapter! I loved the description of Clockwork's tower, and I agree with your method of making him age and de-age. It really worked out nicely. One question, though-what does Deus ex Machina mean?

Wow! i just read this story for the first time, and it was great! You have great details and i can just picture how the characters act and where they are. You are a great writer so continue this story and i will keep reviewing (if i remember.)
