And the way you've managed to make it sound like an actual story is so riveting. I really hope that writer's block dies soon. | MarchionessDeCarabas chapter 9 . 4/13/2011 If you possibly can, I'd love to see you finish this. It's easy to see that you've put a lot of care and thought into this story. You have managed to stay true to the original themes and characters while at the same time introducing new material and new depth - particularly to Jareth's backstory. To me, that's what defines good fanfiction. You're not twisting and mangling characters in order to fit them into your own fantasy, but neither are you simply rehashing what we already know. You're adding depth to the past and extending the storyline in a way that is completely believable. It's also refreshing to have the story set somewhere other than either Sarah's home or back in the Labyrinth. An Irish village makes an enchanting backdrop, and I love the way you've blended Irish legend with the Labyrinth legend. Makes me wish I had an Irish aunt I could go and visit . . . . Anyway, I know it's been almost two years, but if you have any spark of interest in returning to this story, I hope my sincere entreaties will help to fan it to life. |
